What's Scott Ryan up to?

Anyone know? I'd be interested in seeing some more of his work, but it seems he has dropped off the face of the planet! Where is old mate?

Yeah, I'm champing at the bit for whatever he's going to do next as well. Talk was he was working on a zombie movie called Who Cares Who Knows (writing it, directing it, starring again), but any info on that post-2006 has dried up. If he got it off the ground when he wanted to you'd expect it to be ready for release sometime this year. Who knows? Maybe send a letter to Inside Film magazine; they keep up to date on all films Australian. Keep your fingers crossed anyway; this guy's a talent.

I would love to know if Scott Ryan has another project in the pipeline, but there is nothing to find about him at all over at Inside Film: the austalian filmakers magazine website.

Anyone heard anything at all?

I'm keeping my eyes peeled for future Scott Ryan projects, too. This guy has real talent.

Despite the low budget "The Magician" failed to make a profit - I think his problem may be a difficulty in obtaining funds for his next film.

That's a shame. At the time, when the film was in filmhouses, and now that it is out on DVD, I tirelessly pimp the film. To no real end, tho... :( I watched it twice in cinemas and I have the DVD. So I've done MY bit.. :D

Or we could direct them to this forum post. He's got talent, he should be given funding. I'd like to see what he does next. Despite The Magician having a low budget it managed to be a good film. See what he does with millions...

Didn't make a profit! The film cost $10,000 and David and Margaret (At The Movies) spruiked it when it first came out.

Scott Ryan now lives in Echuca, Victoria, my old home town. He doesnt seem to be doing anything in terms of new films. The lecturers at RMIT Screen course still talk about him like a god though...

I understand he has some pilot deal with HBO, but I don't know any details...

Livin' in Echuca, 'ey? I hope he doesn't get sconned. Those ratbag Moamans love nothing better than piffing fruit fly infested oranges across the Murray at strolling Vics.
