Who kidnapped Jasjit?

In the old movie it was Don's crew who forced him to do the robbery. The identity of the kidnapper wasn't revealed this time.

reply

I think it was Don, the voice sounded a lot like SRK.

reply

Yes it was Don who kidnapped him. You could hear his voice in the speaker while he was talking to jasjit.

reply

THAT WAS NAARANG!!!! But yeah, it was Don's crew again this time round. How anyone thought the voice on the speaker was SRK is beyond me.

reply

I think it was also Narang in the old Don.

reply

I think all of u need to go back and watch that part because that isnt SRK or Narang.

reply

The identity of the kidnapper was not relevant, that's why it wasn't revealed. The relevance of that part was to show why and how Jasjit had a reason to hate DeSilva which is relevant later in the film.

reply

Agree Pompula - while in the old it was Don's gang that kidnapped Jasjit - in the new the ID of the kidnapper is irrelevant and never revealed. It is certainly not Don or Narang.

reply

it sounds a lot like narang though,
not that it matters of course

SrEe

I think it is Narang because in Old DON It was done by Narang

I have a feeling that the director intentionally decided not to reveal who kidnapped Jasjit (I wouldnt be surprised if it was intentional, I mean, with all the twists involved in this movie).. Maybe in the sequel, Jasjit finds out that Don was somehow responsible for his wife's death (Don's crew may have done all the dirty work, but in the end, DeSilva ruinded everything and decided to keep diamonds for himself). So, maybe, in the sequel, he will a reason to join with Roma, so that both them can seek their revenge against DON (hehe, I think I should sell this idea to Farhan.. lol...)...

And if they want to make it into "masala" film like Dhoom 2 (more like brain-dead... sorry, Dhoom 2 lovers)- Roma and Jasjit will fall in love with each other (maybe this time, the "so called critics" will accept the sequel, since one of their main complains abt DON was that there wasn't any "romance" involved)

reply

Hahaha. You are so right.

reply

I will not see the Don sequel if it turns into a Dhoom 2 with romance and Roma and Jasjit, being loved, beating Don or something like that. Ugh! It would ruin the movie for me... forever!

reply

I have a feeling its going to go in the direction of DHOOM 2. I mean, thats what the Indian Audience wants, right? otherwise why did DHOOM 2 (which had no storyline and unrealistic climax- how did Hritik survive a 100 ft fall) become a bigger hit than DON which had a far superior script and an amazing climax? ....

reply

I disagree. When Farhan was asked why the delay he said that he was figuring out a way to have a negative hero theme be viable for two more films. KEY point - figuring out!! Farhan can be trusted to not throw junk at us but to try to figure out a decent plot.

I hope Farhan Aktar wasnt disheartened by the initial box-office reaction and the critics reviews (i knew it was declared a flop in the beginning. Only after a few months later, when it was doing well overseas did some of the critics change their reviews)... I wouldnt be surprised if it does go in the direction of Dhoom 2 since Dhoom 2 was a huge hit in India.....

2 more films of Don? That would be difficult since the main lead is ruthless unlike Johnny Depp's character in "Pirates" (hero was the anti-hero- though he was the bad guy, he was still good at heart). Hopefully it will be as successful as the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise (maybe Bomrani's charcter wont be there in Don 2 but he will be brought back in Don 3 just like in the case of Captain Barbossa- that will certainly shock people)

What about the rumor that the original director is thinking of making a sequel with Big B in it and not SRK (hope that's not true)

reply

Because Farhan is not that trashy Dhoom 2 director - I have faith in the man's sensibilities.

There are two chances:

One is that Farhan wanted it that way, like that makes you curious, like the suitcase in Pulp fiction (if you saw that you'll know what it is). It's not necessary like explain every single thing in a movie, that's an insult to one's intelligence. Enough of bollywood spoonfeeding! Just a random guy maybe:P

Or it maybe intentional, like they could leave some possibilities to later develop into a sequel (which is in the pipeline).

I know why critics were unwilling to accept this movie - they didn't get the point of it. It was the SAME MOVIE, just viewed in another perspective. They were just busy in comparing with the old version and criticizing the movie. Really pathetic!
