I agree that it deserves better - but am amazed it is this good with all the hatred for SRK taking on a role earlier played by Amitabh.

shareI know you'd rather give Dhoom 2 an 8 or 9 right? Because it is so important for an actor to look good, not as important to act good. Thankfully immature beings like you are few and far between and not in enough numbers to decide whether a film is successful or rated well.

LoL and Dhoom 2 and Nishabd were the best movies ever!!!
This was really good. I was impressed, SRK was bad and acted wonderfully, and the twist just added an extra level of awesome to it! I would any day see this over Dhoom 2 or the old Don. I liked the old Don when I saw it, it was ok, but it really isn't worth another watch for me now.
I gave it 4/10. 7 is very high rating for this movie.

makers and takers of this movie has once again proved the low quality flashy indian cinema....where majority viewers would call this a HIt or an action movie....
i felt so sorry for the movie that i cudnt even watch it completely...a disgusting movie...
v-kundra made a good point, Sharukh's acting was pathetic, he doesn't look cool or look scary, if you look at the orginal Don, Bachan's walking style, dialogue delivery, body language, cigar smoking, Card playing which makes a perfect Don act.

Action movie? Yes it is nice. Best? Not a chance. SRK can only have a "best" in the romance category. Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Akshay Kumar, etc... are actors known to have the BEST action movies of Bollywood (i.e Sholay and Mohra/Khiladi series). This was a very nice attempt to make an action movie, but it is nothing compared to raw action without the help of technology that can be seen in those three movies.
shareOther than the fact that Bachchan fans hated the film ever being remade, no one gave really logical reasons for their dislike. What is the big deal? Just because SRK acted in Don and was asked to host KBC3 does not mean he is trying to usurp the throne. Big B will be around for another 8-10 years! In fact the sequel will be completely unique and hopefully move this story out of the remake shadow and into a new realm.

I thought the original Don was supposed to be a comedy...so I don't know what everybody is going on about acting and all...I mean the ending with the book being thrown around the cemetary with those noises?

deserves an 8, i gave it 10/10 for being the best action film done in bollywood EVER!
i gave 9/10 for the old don 1978, coz of the horrible climax, which the director himself regrets ( i talked to him personally about it)

I think 7.3 is a fair overall rating. I liked the film but I didn't love it. Shah Rukh Khan is awesome though!
