Farhan Akhtar’s version stays more true to the title

I have watched both versions and to be honest, I feel Farhan Akhtar’s version stays more true to the title- I mean, SRK was potraying DON-pretending-to-be-Vijay-pretending-to-be-DON (didn’t see that coming…. Although, it makes for even a more thrilling impact when one watches the film the second time. This is when you know the entire plot, and you wear a different hat altogether, that of a Don instead of Vijay- you clearly notice that the director is giving subtle hints in what to expect). After watching this version, I felt Chandra Barot’s version should have been approriately titled “Vijay” instead but anyhoo.

And also that famous line supposedly immortalized by AB “it is not difficult to catch Don, it is impossible” made more sense in the newer version. After all, SRK’s Don did escape (I must add, very slyly- thus proving that he truly was a criminal mastermind) while AB’s Don actually got caught (& dies in the process. So, sadly we didn’t get to see that trait in the older version)

Revisiting Don (2006) is more enjoyable than the first viewing - there is no doubt about that.

Agreed. The Original Don with Big B was good, but Don dies in the first quarter of the movie itself. Farhan Akthar's Don was better written and better directed also. It was an interesting plot twist at the end also, which definitely no one saw it coming.
