The only celebrity cause that's worth a sh*t!

I think Mira Sorvino deserves massive praise for backing this cause, and for being practically the only celebrity who isn't wasting all her time, effort and influence trying to save animals.

Apparently, animals have become more important than people. Imagine how much progress could be made fighting the sex trade if every celebrity followed Mira's lead and threw their support behind this cause.

Well helping a good cause its always welcome and something admirable but I agree with you that it's great that finally someone famous is highly interested in this issue and trying to do something about it.

It's such a forgotten problem and many people still don't know about it, sadly me included a knew about the whole human Trafficking issue thanks to the film taken but I have to say this mini series touched the subject much better.

Taken only did so from the surface and I'd love to see that the next taken film now that's its so popular would change its a genre a little and do something very similar to Human Trafficking.

I think Ashley Judd was also interested in this cause, last I heard. You're right about this being an overlooked, forgotten issue. IMO, it's incredibly tragic and insidious and deserves much more attention.

Pamela Anderson and Linda Blair, on the other hand, are fighting hard to save chickens! You go girls!

Great for Ashley Judd as well.
I hope one day this issue had more atenttion by the press and by organizations who are interested in helping other people.

They could start by educating people on how to avoid it on the first place and latter all police departments should go on covered missions to rescue the victims of this horrible crime.

Great for Mira and Ashley for trying to do something about it .

In the movie, the victims were Eastern European, and were taken in by fake "modeling school" scams and things of that nature. That would be a good place to start a warning/education campaign, just like anti-smoking or identity theft warnings here. Unfortunately, law enforcement in that part of the world is corrupt.

I know I saw the series.
I guess fake modeling schools are most common way of taking the victims, the other ones is meeting people that you talked to them on the Internet like Mira's character did to go on the covered mission.

And like you say campaigns on this subject is one of the best ways to prevent it, but stil there should be a way of saving the girls who already who have already been taken.

Do you know if Mira or Ashley have an org where people can help.

I'm thinking Black Ops & commando raids. Get someone like Black Water to take out the trash, and exterminate the scum who run this industry. All on a covert basis of course.

Ever see "Act of Valor"?

So only human life matters to you despite the fact that all life on a planet relies on the survival of each other to survive?

If you wanna go save chickens from KFC than that's your business but human life is more important than what I ate for dinner last night.

reply

I don't give two farts about chickens. I probably eat more of them than the average person.

The people who run this industry are predators. They're not helping anyone to survive. They're destroying lives, and ultimately the human race. The species is better off without them.
