What does Robert Carlyle's character Sergie have Aids or Hepatitis C?

There is one scene in the movie where Robert's character Sergie goes to see a doctor and he gives him a prescription for something. And the doctor asks him questions about what he has. Does anyone know what disease he has? HIV/AIDS or Hepatitis C?

I'm not sure if it ever says what he has does it?
