I Really Wish People Like Giselle Lived In This World! :'(

You know, I was just watching Enchanted again & there was this part that was really emotional. It's the part when Robert says he can't handle Giselle anymore & she says to him he's been so kind she doesn't want to cause him any trouble. Then she says, "I wish you every happiness." and then she smiles & then walks away all alone by herself. This made me feel so emotional! The way she says she wishes him every happiness & then smiles. It was so sweet, so innocent, so kind & so genuine. Such a beautiful & touching moment. It brought tears to my eyes. Giselle is such a wonderful, pure, lovely character. She's so kind. I wish there were more people like her in this world.

Unfortunately, that's when she was still more Disney almost-princess than a "real live woman". I wonder if she would still be that way after they were married...

I'm sure she would have been. Giselle brought so much happiness to everyone around her. I think she would have been the same.

But I do get what you mean though. Life has a way of affecting even the most purest & nicest of people. I'm the voice of experience - I was a sweet, intelligent, hardworking little boy & now I'm 23 & my whole world has collapsed.

Well they did give a look into the future (the apartment scene and the dress factory scene) and you can tell that her personality pervaded those scenes!

You wish a stereotypically princessy, HIGHLY UNREALISTIC acting cardboard cutout of a woman was real? That's rather scary.

I'd rather have more people like Snow White or Cinderella- classy, strong, gentle women who actually have flaws like a real person.

Uh screamqueen, I don't think you watched the entire film. Giselle wasn't "stereotypically princessy", and as the story progressed she became a mixture of that innocent, wide-eyed fairy tale girl and an experienced, less naive, realistic woman, and she'd probably have been the first person to tell you that she had at least a couple of flaws. The character development was actually quite good for a Disney feature. Giselle began just like all those other animated princesses who need a man (usually a prince) to have any sort of life or save them from whatever evil is oppressing them (and that evil is usually a woman too), and she ended by slipping those glass slippers right off, grabbing that sword, and saving the man she loved from the evil witch/dragon. She kicked the ass of that whole "damsel in distress" stereotype. What did Snow White or Cinderella ever do that was even half as brave as Giselle??

yes, she was pure and lovely

but that was BEFORE the marriage, they're all like that at first

so many movies, so little time
