When Giselle asked Robert how long they've been together he said 5 years. Morgan is 6. She's known Morgan since she was a baby but they're not that close. She's even very distant and formal with her. I know that Robert has some boundaries with her like not sleeping over etc. But if a woman has been in a 5 year serious relationship with a man who has a daughter, there's no way that she would have zero involvement as she is. In a real world she's as good as raised her together with him

An Morgan is not that hard, spoiled, moody child. She's a very lonely sweet girl and obviously missing a mother figure. Nancy's been there five years, long before Morgan came to senses yet she has no warm feeling towards Morgan. If she had been a good mother figure, ok not mother maybe even just a sister or good friend figure, Morgan wouldn't have loved Giselle so much

Well it seemed that Nancy hadn't spent that much time with Morgan. She mentions how she never stayed the night at Robert's, so presumably she only had met Morgan through hellos and goodbyes whenever she was on dates with her father, or else the odd group outing. Nancy seems as though she's friendly enough to the girl, so perhaps she could have made a good stepmother.

I think Morgan would have disliked Nancy for the same reason most children hate stepparents. Not that she would have been a wick stepmother, like the woman whom she happened to be the namesake of, but, because of the fact that most children tend to be hostile towards anybody who replaces their own fathers or mothers in their lives.

Due to the way that Giselle entered into hers & Robert's lives, Giselle was able to reach Morgan on a different kind of level, so that by the time Robert fell in love with her, Morgan was bonded with her as well.

Robert said they'd known each other for 5 years. That doesn't mean they've dated for that long. She and Morgan do seem to have a fairly distant relationship, but she seems to be a nice person. Morgan seems to be familiar with fairy tales, true love, etc., so my guess is that Nancy and a Robert kept their relationship very low key in front of Morgan.
