what's the point of cooking with POVs if they're hosting travel shows?

they spend all season making these POVs like "chef of love" and whatever and end up just being hosts for DDD-type shows.

I used to be indecisive. Now, I'm not so sure.

The contestants don't pick the shows; the network does that to fill niches it thinks it needs to fill. And the ultimate appearances the winner makes usually have nothing to do with the pilot he or she made.

I've been wondering about this as well. If the winner will not be hosting a cooking show, why not just pick someone who is fun to watch and who can describe food well?

Of course, Tregaye is both of those, so I guess they got what they ultimately needed. She's really the most likable winner we've seen in quite a few years, so I look forward to seeing what they do with her.

I disagree. I hated Lenny, but I liked Eddie and Justin, and I love Aarti, Melissa, Damaris, & Jeff. The only one I didn't like besides Lenny was Aaron "Big Daddy" McCargo, and that's because I thought all three of the runners-up were better than he was. Lisa Garza was beautiful, elegant, and an outstanding cook; she was the prom queen. Adam Gertler was the class clown, but he could cook too. Kelsey Nixon was the head cheerleader and everybody's best friend. You could say she was Betty and Lisa was Veronica!

Yes, they seem to want personalities like Guy Fieri and Anne Burrell. Tregaye is one annoying step too far though and she'll be "popping" and "fleeking" all the way up until her new contract expires.

I agree the POVs are such a joke because sometimes contestants get kicked because all they do is cook from their POV. The show is very inconsistent and the judges are not very good because they are also the talent and not part of the casting process...why would they want competition to win?

This whole thing is becoming a joke. I could be wrong, but when they mentioned the "grand prize" I didn't hear any promises for a show. They basically just got a "pilot" for maybe their reel. The "grand prize" was a mention in the magazine and an appearance at the Food & Wine event. Big deal!

They only did the travel pilots so that they could squeeze Guy Feiri in somehow.

I might have watched Tregaye make "cute" appetizers. But there is no way I would watch her visiting restaurants.

They might as well had Monterey win; she choked cooking within the show's time restraints but she was cute and fun and original. Her paired with the Lunch Lady guy was really entertaining.

Eddie didn't really win a cooking show, either. His show wasn't too far off from a travel show, in my opinion.
