Oh, Give me Back my Freedom! (SPOILERS)
What a splendid dialog this was! And what a great movie this is!
I just watched this movie two nights ago, and have not been able to stop thinking about it.
In one of the many fantastic dialogs between Traude and Mütze, she says "oh, give me back my freedom" and Mütze completes the sentence with "and wash away the shame with blood in battle".
Afterwards, Mütze decides to 'wash away' his shame by letting Jenny out of jail, even though as he puts it "all hell will break loose".
Based on dialogs between Traude and Mütze, I would expect this "Oh, give me back my freedom" dialog to come from an opera, but which?
