No More Victims!

I have seen enough of Fighting the Odds: The Marilyn Gambrell Story, and I must bring this out of my mind, doesn't this movie quite remind you all of the other, same types movies about troubled teenagers, teenagers being involved in gangs and in violence, and committing crimes and spending time in jail? Fighting the Odds reminds me of movies, such as, The Ron Clark Story, Freedom Writers, Gridiron Gang, and maybe Radio, Stand and Deliver, and Lean on Me; these types of movies are ones that inspire and touch you so deeply. Freedom Writers, starring Hilary Swank, is definitely the one movie that came to mind as I was watching Fighting the Odds; Marilyn Gambrell and Erin Gruwell are both teachers who do not see eye to eye with their troubled teenage students at first, but only want to help them solve and stop all of their atrocious, violent problems, and as time goes on, both Marilyn Gambrell and Erin Gruwell learn more about their students and develope a tightly, strong bond between their children. I know that Freedom Writers came out after Fighting the Odds, but I deeply love Freedom Writers a lot more. I hope all of you feel the same way. Watching all of those movies listed above emotionally touched and moved me. I especially had tears drooping out when I saw Radio; Cuba Gooding Jr. did such a fantastic and fascinating job!

In this time that seems so dry, my heart is thrashing around and drowning.
