He doesn't use camera tricks because it says "CONTINUOUS SHOT" all the time and also he proves that they aren't actors because he always proves that he doesn't know and hasn't met the audience before. It's illegal to lie on TV so he wouldn't do that to us.
You make good points, and perhaps my wording was incorrect. When I said he isn't magic, I meant that he doesn't literally have magical powers. While this is a completely "duh" common sense type of thing.. I've actually seen people argue that what he does is actual magic (aka he can really levitate, walk on water, etc..) despite the fact that he himself has said numerous times that he's an illusionist. I also have no doubt that many of the people on his shows are actors who play along..which is another thing..but also beside the point.
Anyway..bad wording. He is indeed a magician..and I didn't mean to say otherwise. I don't type well at night.
The only reason I posted in this thread was because I found it to be funny. I wasn't sure if the person was actually being honest, or simply kidding. It seems obvious to me he was joking...(as said no one can believe that lying on TV is illegal)..but you never know on these boards.
Erm..so yes.. I meant nothing against Criss Angel. I find his emo look annoying, and I don't find his tricks all to stunning..but whatever floats your boat.
Jokingkong, I SO LOVED your comment, but the one I loved the best was this: You enjoy Criss Angel and that's all that matters... don't let anyone here try and ruin it for you!

Detractors are always there no matter what or who it is. I think even the most mesmorized of audience members are hopefully smart enough to know that he's not "magic", that it's a skill and a technique that he's good at from years and years of practice. Aside from talented, he's primarily a showman which anyone who performs anything live knows they have to be. That's like "performance 101".
Real magic would be having him do a trick you couldn't see through. The guys a hack who got lucky. His audiences are shills, much like the "crew" guy who could "feel the heat" of the 1980's CGI flames during his canyon fiasco. I'm sure they could also smell the CGI smoke too.
