Director and producer relations?

When I first saw the photograph of the cast with the director and producer I thought that the director, Jeremy Simmons, was Gabbie (I'd seen only one episode), and that she's decided not to transition. They really look like male-female twins. And the producer, Thairin Smothers, who has his hands on Lucas' shoulders in this photo looks like he could be his brother. Anyone else think that?
