Which console (or PC) are you getting it for?

As the thread's title says: Which console (or PC) are you getting it for?

I'll be getting it on the Xbox 360 probably, that is if I can't afford a PS3 on tlaunch day.

I'll be getting it for my pc as I don't own a 360 and I'm not planning on buying a PS3. I'll be getting a revolution!
Though I reckon with a highend pc like I have it will look and play best on pc

PC all the way baby.
Even though the consoles leave PCs in the dust when it comes to processing power, you still get better control options with a computer.
And you can hack and mod games on the PC too.

the consoles do NOT leave PCs in the dust. If you have something top of the line like I do (I'm one of hte lucky ones) it can totally own an Xbox 360. The only thing consoles are good for is fighting games, racing games, and ... er sorry nothing else they're good for. Just get an Xbox 360 controller for your PC if you want a controller feel. It's better in the end.

Hahahaha. You seem to have blocked out a couple of genres completely...

100% 360.
I'm speculating here, but I would say Midway is developing with the 360 as its lead platform.
When we saw it a couple of weeks ago, it was demoed to us using a 360 Debug. Looks sweet and the gameplay is simple. Mostly just using the triggers but you're able to pull off very Woo-esqe moves.

i would buy it for 360 but since i dont have one , PC.

The 360 is the way to go

The only way I'll ever spend, waste ;), money on a console is possibly the Nintendo Wii\Revolution because it's got the groovy motion sensitive controllers. The full backward compatability is nice too, but would have been better if I could just plug an old game cartridge directly into the machine rather than downloading the old cartridge games to the system.

reply

Agreeing with KNathrak the only console I would and am getting is the Nintendo wii, simply cause its the only innovative one there. In fact it is the only new console with a proper difference to the last ones, bar graphics, but they could jsut have release updated memory expansions or something if thats all and little thing here and there was going to change. I love the wii controller as you get total control over your actions, it would be cool for a game like Stronglehold as well, imagine the wii controller, using to of them, one in each hand like the dual pistols chow uses in the game and films!!
Now that would be awesome!
Midway are supporting the Wii so lets hope they bring Stranglehold over to the Nintendo Wii!!!
come on...

Ok ok fine, thats your opinion, but please don't try and force it on me!!

reply

i'll buy it on the ps3 which is scheduled for a march release. but i'm going to wait a few months before purchasing a ps3 as the price will obviously go down. i may get it for the pc otherwise

reply

The PC all the way THE PC version of a game look's each and every time better then the console

reply

Ill be going for 360 :) looks like an awesome game.

360

360 :p

Im getting it on the 360.

PS3 will rule definately getting it for that when it arrives. To much fannying about on a pc having to add new patches to a game every other week and the consoles are all online now so it is just as good as having a pc but without all the hassle, besides the controlling set ups on a pc are always gay. John woo involved with this game as well as chow yun fat it is the next big step up from max payne easily. Bring on the carnage.

reply

360 for sure.

reply

um... why do people who don't play PC games comment on PC games... the controlling set up can be changed on virtually every game, or just plug in a game pad if you can't figure out how to work a mouse and keyboard. also the patch thing is to make the game better. it fixes problems that they couldn't work out before the game was shipped, most are minor fixes but they are fixes none the less. also this game will be the same on every system you play it with. it won't matter if you get it for PS3 or 360 or PC because they are all the same. in a year or two the PC will put the consoles in the dust, like it does every time there's a new generation, but right now there isn't much difference. the next step up from max payne would be um... hl2, doom 3, prey, medal of honor pacific assault, black, resident evil 4.... the list goes on and on for oh my god i think i *beep* my pants games that came out after payne. i'm sure there's going to be a *beep* load of flak but who cares, the game will kick much ass and Tequila's back and that's all that matters!

reply

PC, it's much easier to use the mouse to aim. Hopefully the game will also develop a mod community, so I'd like to take advantage of that...

reply

Well i would love to say PC but i will have to get it on PS3.
When i upgrade my PC i will get it on that also. The PC runs/ playes these games better. Just look at Max Payne 1 or 2.

PS3 all the way. Just the HD version of Hard Boiled makes it worth it. Maybe later on the PC version too, if it's really that good and there is any custom content for it. But not before it reaches the bargain bin. :)

reply

[deleted]

I would've gotten it on PC definetly, if it weren't for the announcement of the PS3 exclusive collector's edition, which has Hard Boiled included.

The problem with consoles is the aiming. I really want to aim superbly and not spray with an analog stick.

PS3 for me. Sure, my PC was high-end, but was only good for for 2005-2006 made games. The problem with most games on the PC now-a-days is that the developers expect us to waste $1,000-$3,000 bucks like toilet paper just to upgrade our hardware (or get a new gaming PC for that matter), and expect us to be as qualified as Best Buy's Geek Squad employees in terms of installing new hardware. The computer era as of 2007 is just bad, especially now that most of the games are damn unplayable on Vista, not to mention consumes too much computer power as it is. As for why I chose the PS3, the 360 had a stupid hardware failure rate, which Microsoft didn't admit until E3 2007, which is *beep* stupid, and I'm holding off on the 360 until Christmas 2008 just to make sure I actually get a working console that doesn't die on me for no reason.

reply

I have a next gen PC as you call it. and I looked at the system requirements for this game and my computer meets all of them. and best part is It's a laptop. So I'll be buying this for the PC as I don't own a PS3 or 360 and won't buy one or the other.

reply

im getting it for the ps3 only the cell processor can handle this much *beep* going on at one time

" Death is my future and to escape it I must Face it"

reply

Uhh... Come on, don't kid yourself. I'll be getting it on PS3 but I'm not a silly fanboy who goes around shouting 'ONLY THE CELL PROCESSOR LOL'. The lead platform is 360 so it'll probably be most optimised on there, we'll probably see lots of framerate issues and horrible effects on the PS3. Most people are idiots who refuse to properly adapt to new media, you see!

reply

ooo plzzz is it me or is society trying extremely hard to brush off the fact that 2/3 x boxes are returned. sony was bashed for like 8 months for having faulty controllers but the *beep* box has complete and utter meltdowns and the U.S just brushes that *beep* off their shoulders. And by the way before u start saying fanboy i aint i just like my expensive media/gaming platforms to actually work.

PS: If u knew anything (which i doubt) you would realize that the cell processor is designed for games exactly like this with the abality for massive multible things to occur at once such as a very effective and realistic destroyable enviorment without getting a *beep* meltdown like the bow most likely will.
