why??? why??? WHY???????

The first one was the ABSOLUTE worse movie I have ever seen where I WATCHED the whole damn thing without turning it off/leaving, and I've SEEN most of the bottom 100 on this site. Why make a sequel to such a horrible ordeal, I have no idea.

This is a sequel in name only. The first film did very well but we decided to go "where no man has gone before" for this one.

WTF?! It did 'well'?! It's the worst movie ever.

I think he means in the ratings. See the article in this past Sunday's NY Times, which has a huge photo from it. (Not bad, considering the movie came out 10 months ago.) As we know, individual opinions on the internet have no impact on ratings.

At least make the cg somewhat believable this time. The dinos, blood splatters, gibs in the first movie, etc were worse than video game quality ... and I mean that literally. The movie felt like a high school production.

Also, why the hell were the raptors pretty much invulnerable??? No animal takes 60 rounds from an assult rifle to kill...

poor steven bauer, making *beep* like this has ruined his career after showing much promise early on.

OMG...I just watched this piece of crap on the SciFi channel and I can't believe I watched the entire thing. I should have stopped when I saw the first raptors that looked like..um...for lack of better phrase, THE WORST CGI IN THE WORLD. BTW, did raptors swim? lol

reply

LOL - that's pretty impressive - you watched this movie in September of 2005.... and as of April 2006, it still isn't even scheduled to air yet!

That's some time machine you have there....

god the first one sucked. they weren't even raptors. they were mutated/radioactive lizards that all looked like raptors except one that looked like a carnotaur and they all sprayed gas-like blood.

reply

ive never seen any of your movies but my dad speaks well of them and you steve.

Look bro, its the Sci-Fi channel. Every week they have a new movie based on some experiment that went deathly wrong and there is some creature that is a fusion of two already bad things. Mansquito anyone? Not to mention every natural disaster movie they have. They probably had some extra footage on the cutting room floor and they decided to take those 18 minutes and paste a movie around them. Just sit back and enjoy the fact that they are only made for people to sit back and make fun of. Were any of you really expecting a good movie here? Be honest, it is what is....a total crapfest rounding out at exactly 95 minutes where a lot of underdeveloped characters die, the protagonist somehow overcomes the odds and their self doubt and they leave a small inkling that a sequel could happen... usually the formula is as follows. Take the number of people who turn on this channel, even while flipping through (X) and compare it to the number of times Fred Savage has been on a failed television show (Y).. If X is greater than Y, then you have yourself room for a sequel. So sit back and wait for all the B movie cliches and ask yourself, besides the budget, the bad special effects, the terrible acting and location, how is this different than any A-list movie i have seen.

Can You Dig It?

Thank Bonnie Hammer, who has brought the respectability of Sci-Fi down to nothing.

There was a time about 10 years ago where SciFI made quality movies, like New Eden, and even 5 years ago with the Dune series.

We are talking about the same network that dumped Farscape, killed Sliders, and ran Black Scorpion.

oh man, wtf people, wtf. Sci-Fi Channel has really gone downhill these past few years. They still have great shows (Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, etc) but it almost stops right there. What happened to the Sci-Fi channel that actually gave good sci-fi movies? What happened to the channel that showed films from all decades? What happened to the channel that actually gave good, classic sci-fi tv shows? Hell, they don't even show Star Trek anymore. The closest that they ever come to the good old days is when they have their cycle marathons showing stuff.

But please, Sci-Fi Channel original movies are CRAP. Horrible. Bad actors, bad storyline, too cliched, crappy CGI, the list goes on and on. Granted, you usually don't look for good quailites in a sci-fi film, but their cable movies go beyond description. It's about all they show now when they give movies now, and it really annoys me.
