Ok, so this movie has Julian McMahon AND it's a horror/thriller..
hmm.. I'm in! So, what's the synopsis and when will it be released? Cuz it says 2005, so I'm assuming it comes out this year.. but there's no news about this movie.
Does anyone know anything besides the whole Project Greenlight thing?

They have finished filming (last month I think) and hope to have the film ready to show at the Toronto Film festival in September.

if i'm not mistaken, i THINK this was mentioned in dark horizens.com - but don't quote me. and, speaking of quotes, i love yours, beacon1! hannah pitt will be imbedded in my brain forever (and that scene between streep & thompson was absolutely brilliant - brilliant. as was all of ANGELS - thanks for reminding me - i walked around in a daze for six months after seeing those performances - ah, nip/tuck & ANGELS IN AMERICA - talk about class.

My son was in Prisoner and I was also told they were HOPING to get a cut ready for Toronto. If the finished product is even remotely as brilliant as the script, this will be a winner. Sure looked good on the set.
P.S. I loved Angels in America too. Haunting.
well, we'll see how it goes. i just received (via e-mail) a newsletter about the toronto film festival and the website's getting ready to go up. no listing of prisoner so far, but i'll keep all posted....
oh, and tnmoviemom - wasn't jeffrey wright incredible? what the hell - they were ALL marvelous, but i was truly mesmerized by wright...and always "the meryl" - oh, thank you. any time i get to talk about this piece of work, i'm in heaven!
TNmoviemom, any tidbits of information would be gratefully received. For instance, does it really veer off into the supernatural or is it a straight out thriller? I know IMDB calls it a horror/thriller.
What did you son do in it? Is it a very dark film? It certainly sounds that way.
David plays Julian's character as a child. Yes, it has a dark side, but nothing that put me off the story. I loved what I read/saw.

supposedly (i'm gathering all of this via julian interviews), arrogant producer (character sounds much like christian) who's taken hostage, imprisoned & then mind games ensue (enabling julian to go on a painful character "journey" - every actor's dream role) ... according to the latest julian interview, he goes from bad guy to good guy.
do we see his "torturer"? or is it simply a voice? i was confused about this part -

As for the role of his torturer, he's played by Elias Koteas whom you most definitely see. He's brilliant.

well, i'm not very good at pin-pointing, moviemom - variety, dark horizons, empire online...tell ya' what - go to www.mcmahoniacs.net, extraordinaryjulian.com, anything with julian mcmahon - there are MANY fanlistings of the boy! i have numerous sites on my favorites list, so i don't know their exact addresses anymore. but if you go to the EJ forums and especially the Mcmahoniacs forum, you'll find MANY others who are as obsessed as i am and have done amazing research for articles from all over the world...also try typing in nip/tuck - you'll get info there too, probably.

Hello all, I worked on this film and can answer your question. Tom Guiry plays the State worker who shows Derek Plato (Julian McMahon) the Old State Prison that Derek is scouting out for a film he is making.

I don't think it has anything to do with that. Its an original screenplay which was entered in the Project Greenlight competition a couple of years ago and came second.
I believe it will be released in the first half of next year. Its being released in the U.S. by Romar Entertainment:
