Any idea what next year's American Girl movie will be?

They couldn't be doing that because Felicity was the fourth doll released, not the second. My money is on Molly, but that is a complete guess with no evidence whatsoever to back it up.

I've heard a lot of Addy, Molly, Kit, and Kirstens. What about Josefina? I learned most of my Spanish through her and not my evil third grade Spanish teacher. Anyway, isn't there like a contact only for three movies? So that would be Samantha, Felicity, and...I have no idea. All the stories are good though, it's so hard to choose! Myself, I'm a Kirsten diehard.

I know there will be a story about Molly's friend, Emily and the Movie and the book about the friend kind of come together so i think it will be her.

I heard it was gonna be Kit. They're also gonna make a Ruthie, Kit's BF, doll and book, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be Kit.

Actually, I have an opinion about casting. You know how in the harry Potter movies they got some actors by visiting schools? What if they did that with the AG movies? Think about it, it could work........possibly.......

They can't use AnnaSophia Robb for any of the upcoming movies because they already made a her a brunette and cast her as Samantha. I know all the dolls look alike, but having the same actress play two dolls would be too weird.

I think it would probably be Molly, I know, at least among my friends Felicity and Samantha are the most popular American Girls with Molly following close behind, which I think was the guage for the movies. Although Addy and Kirsten have the potential to be pretty awesome movies because of the travel scenes, I mean, the Larsen's on that boat? How sweet would that be? Or Addy and her mother running away, also awesome! I haven't read any of the books since Meet Kit (which I only read because we got the doll, which we only got because Kit looks exactly like my little sister!)

shareI think Addy would make a good movie because the six stories flow well together as one big story. I haven't seen the Samantha one so I'm not sure if they tried to include all six stories in it but I think it would be very hard to do. It seems they focused on Nellie but she only briefly appears in the third book (isn't a part of the plot) and isn't in the fourth and fifth at all.
shareI hope they don't choose the newer dolls, such as Kit and Kaya, but that's only my opinion. I think Kirsten might be a good candidate for the next film, partly because instead of Christmas, she had St. Lucia Day, so an interesting cultural twist. Also, Addy with Kwanzaa, on the same point.

The only thing with Molly, since they are making the movies along with the 'friend dolls,' is that Molly has like 3 friends. Unless they threw the two out and just did Emily, which would be cool but...Emily only showed up for a little bit. Whatev.
Here's hoping for Kirsten, Addy or Kit (my faves left other than Molly)!

Same with Kirsten. Her best friends in the books seem to be, as I recall, her cousins (Lisbeth and Anna, I think). Would they do one of those? I have a feeling they'll make a Singing Bird doll even though she only appears in one or two books.
Making an Emily doll is kind of weird. She was only in one book. The best friend gets up book of their own so what would Emily's be about? Her and Molly parted ways in book four so would Molly even be in it? In my opinion, they should have chosen either Linda or Susan and develop her more.
What about Josefina? I've only read the first three books and that was a long time ago. I don't recall her having any female friends besides her sisters.
I haven't read the Kaya books yet but I've read the Family and Friends page on the website. They'll probably be doing Speaking Rain.
The others are easy to predict: Addy-Sarah, Kit-Ruthie

I just read the Josefina books and I wonder if they'll make a Marianna doll. She's the only female friend Josefina has, even if she's only in one book. Josefina appears to be kind of a loner which is alright with me.

Well, they probably wouldn't have Addy celebrating Kwanzaa, since the holiday wasn't created until 1966, roughly a hundred years after Addy's stories take place.
My bet's on Molly's movie being next, though it will be a little different to have an English girl as the next "American Girl" doll, especially when she only appears in one story.
A few weeks ago on the American Girls Club website, they had a poll asking girls which doll's story they'd like to see made into a movie next, and I was surprised to see that a pretty big majority voted for the limited edition Today girls Kailey or Marisol, though I doubt that the company would let that vote influence them too much.

I concur that Addy did not celebrate Kwanzaa, in the third book she celebrated Christmas. Though in the last book Addy had her crowning achievement of reading the Emancipation Proclamation aloud to her church on the anniversary of it taking affect New Year's Eve/Day (she finished as the clock was chiming midnight.)
i hope they do ALL the american girls. there's like 8 of them now, right??
