Disturbing, yet entertaining,

Yeah, the scene near the end in the slaughter house is pretty gross, but I mean that was not surprising or though provoking. Most themes in this movie are pretty well known. Such a slaughter house doesn't look or smell like roses but all in all you have to get over that or either decide to stop eating meat. It's a processing plant, the industrial aspect may let it look a bit more horrifying, but in the end whether a local butcher slaughters one animal or a factory like this slaughters thousands, the process is the same and the inside of an animal is always going to look pretty gross before it's cut up into the nice parts that we buy in a supermarket.

In fact it's a bit hypocritical of us to be grossed out about a cut up cow head or the intestines of the animal. We have grown to only appreciate the fine cuts of animals that hardly look like they came of an animal anymore. In most parts of the world outside the western countries it's still completely normal for those parts to be eaten too. We call it delicatessen, in Africa or India it would be regular thursday, kidney and liver day.
