Was Greg Kinnear hitting on Amber?

When Greg Kinnear was ordering food at Mickey's ,was he hitting on Amber or just being friendly? Why did that guy spit on his burger then ?

reply

I think he was being kind of being flirty or maybe he was into his little executive power trip and putting on the charm. Either way, fast food employees spit in food A LOT and certainly do not need any reason to do so beyond their dissatisfaction with their job and resentments being expressed - bah!

Yeah sorry to burst your bubble but where's your proof of this happening? If the two morons working with the Amber character made any sense with anything they said, it was the bit about the cameras watching them. I'm pretty sure with a camera focused on you at all times, that would make you question spitting in someone's found pretty fast.

I agree with the other poster's opinion on Kinnear's character.

I think the guy thought the guy was hitting on her and/or being a douche.

You know: fish, chips, cup 'o tea, bad food, worse weather, Mary fu*king Poppins... LONDON.

reply

I think he just kind of enjoyed that a young, attractive female thought his job was cool and was almost fascinated by him. Not so much flirting but more like he enjoyed the attention.

It certainly appeared he was being more than friendly to Amber, and that scene and the hotel-room porn made him come off as a bit of a creep. As for why the cook was spitting on his burger, it was a misdirected attempt to stick it to "the man."

reply

Please, I think that porn room scene was designed to show how lonely he is while traveling for the job. I'm sure he had made a lot of cross country trips during his career. I don't think it was to show that he was creepy, practically pedophile. I can't really say why the cook spit in his food. Maybe it was his way of sticking it the suits and shirts.

Es todo bueno!

^^LOL! Judging by your answer I'm going to ASSume you've never worked fast food or known anyone who has. Of course workers spit in food on a daily basis. If you don't think this is happening then you're pretty naive.

My friend worked at Jack in the Box and told me stories about how her co-workers would spit in the food of customers who were rude or sounded white. Some even went as far as taking burger patties into the bathroom and peeing on them. If the managers don't care it's going to happen. That's why you have to be careful when dining out. Don't mess with people who handle your food.

Love is a losing game. One I wished I never played.

reply

Why did the guy spit on the food? Perhaps he was jealous, or perhaps he was just bored. Another possibility is that he overheard the Kinnear character say to Amber that he was a big executive at the corporation.

Spitting in food does happen. My niece told me about a co worker telling her to spit on a pizza for some rude kids she went to high schhool with. She was horrified and refused. He said he did it to people if they treated him badly.

This was also discussed in "Waiter's Rant" That was a best selling book based on the author's career as a waiter and dining room supervisor in NYC for many years. The book grew out of his online blog of rants after a hard day.

I doubt that the cameras were a deterent. Even after talking about robbing the place they said they doubted anyone ever looked at the tapes unless something actually happened like a robbery or burglary. The ones I see on "First 48" are usually blurry and out of focus. I remember a bank once that got robbed. They went to the tape and saw scenes from the Christmas party with a bunch of drunks. Someone had accidently hit the record button and they had never checked it.

Also some systems loop and record over old previous footage.

Are You Guys Monumentally Dense?

Greg Kinnear's Character acted as a "Customer" and then Identified Himself (Hello are Our Brains Working) as the Assistant Marketing Director for Mickeys probably sizing up the way Amber was treating him as a customer Not Hitting On Her.

You all need to get your minds out of the gutter.

If he asked her what she was doing after work then he would be hitting on her.

As far as the Douchebag who spit in his food I think he did it when he heard Kinnear identify who he was.

Grow Up Trolls.

I'm deeply disturbed by those few responses of food spitting at takeout joints...is this a phenomenon in the US only? hope so, otherwise down here in little old New Zealand, I'd have to think twice before I ever go to Wendys, or Mac Donald's...

Just me and my 2cents worth?
