The book is very detailed and better than the film!

I have read Eric Schlosser's book, Fast Food Nation twice. It was a
very informative and eye opening expose of the fast food industry
at work. The one chapter about how so many members of the late
night cleaning crews hard at work inside of slaughterhouses was
not in the script. All of these people were documented workers
from Mexico and Central America who lost their lives while
working as members of the janitorial crews whose duty is to
go inside of the slaughterhouses on the late night shifts to
clean and sanitize these places. I really wish that the movie
had shown this on camera though it did not. The details in
this one chapter were scary and really opened up my eyes to
the dangers that these cleaning crews face every night. I
recommend the book to those who have not read it.

It struck me of why this film was not detailed enough and it hit me. Perhaps, the author was afraid of being hit with a lawsuit for exploiting all this. This was probably why the movie was a movie of scenes rather than a documentary.

And yes, it was a great book!
