Lord of the Rings ripoff?? explain

Now I will start by saying that I have never seen this movie. I am however curious as to why this movie is being hailed by several sources on this board as a "LOTR ripoff".

So why is this? Is it because there are a bunch guys running around with swords, armor, and magic fighting monster dudes and evil wizards? If that's the case than half the fantasy movies ever made are "LOTR ripoffs". Is this the case or is there some other reason?

From what I've gleamed of the plot this movie this movie is your typical; the evil army burned my home/killed my family/kidnaped random loved one and now I'm on a quest to kill the Big Bad Evil Guy (BBEG) who owns the army/rescue random loved one. I so this movie has more in common with Conan the Barbarian/Ator: Fighting Eagle/Deathstalker/the new Clash of the Titans/probably a dozen others that I am unaware of. There's probably even a sexy swordslinging badass chick who falls in love with the hero then dies. Dull and unoriginal yes, but not a LOTR ripoff.

Now here's something I find kind of amusing, I've never seen any movie on this board being accuse of being LOTR ripoff until the LOTR MOVIES were released.

Anyway so is this movie really a "ripoff", or is this just another case of the word "ripoff" being blindly thrown around by people who don't understand its meaning?

"Shame on you for making me use my rape-whistle in a non-rape situation!"

There's no reason for this to be called a LotR ripoff. They're both fantasy movies, but no other similarity.
