Uwe Boll with solid actors

I watch Uwe Boll films (I can't help myself) and I'm just amazed at the number of name actors he gets to appear in them. How? Sure, some are on the down slope of careers and need new credits to their name (I'm looking at you entire case of 'Alone in the Dark'), but some of them are fairly decent Hollywood commodities (Statham, Pearlman?).

I mean, Boll has a unique talent of taking actors who have given, at least, solid performances before (so we know they have it in them) and directing them to deliver less than b-movie quality acting. Surely actors are seeing this. And they are seeing the lack of quality in films he puts out. How is he still getting good actors into his films? The paychecks can't be THAT big, can they?

yeah..and among with all that...how is it possible that this guy keeps getting the money to continue making films...i think is horrible...a luck of oportunity for people with real talent waiting for chances to do some good stuff

He dosen't even have a cast until around a week before shooting. Calls up any talent who is not doing anything at the moment and promises a large cheque for a few days worth of acting if they agree immediately. That is how he apprently got Sir Ben to work on BloodRayne, so I guess that is how he nabbed most the other cast.

That makes sense. I saw this crap on the plane and even then it was hard to watch. Seems that the whole thing was probably filmed in 8 weeks and all the name actors (like Stadham) got big paydays - doesn't seem to be any other logic that fits. Heck, if any of them had bothered to watch his other movies they might have thought better just to stay home.

Actors sometimes have nothing to do for some time and it is a fickle world they live in. Boll just looks for people who have nothing to do and offers them a big pay day., although he has a few recurring characters like Kristanna Loken and Will Sanderson.
Think some people are more concerned with money then their careers.

at the time of Bloodrayne and alone in the dark their was a german tax law that
allowed him to pay big money to A and B list actors\actresses. aitd has a fun commentary track where uwe spent a lot of time talking about how horrible Tara Reid was on set

Rob Zombie is one of the greatest directors today
