I didnt get the last part when he was sitting with May and she said she missed him. Who was she?

if you look at the end of the movie where may and chris sit and talk, she said that she wouldnt have left if it was chris's baby...based on this, you can assume that they were dating at one point of time.
Also, since it was said that the "bad karma" goes to your loved ones ( as stated by the old lady with the swimmer son), we can assume that after chris went for the ritual, the bad karma went to his loved one i.e. may

shareI thought Mariko went back in a coma. Chris said someone died 5 years ago. Thai can be vague with pronouns, I think he meant May died.
