The "flashback" scenes which make up the majority of the movie appear to be from the present-day but so do the wedding scenes which are supposed to be at least 10-15 years ahead one would think. While I don't recall seeing any computers or cell phones at any point in the movie, the fashion and hairstyles didn't look out of place from the present-day in either the flashback or wedding scenes. I found that to be another problem with this film.
shareHe didn't seem to use a cell phone in the film...(or not that I recall)... so maybe that meant the film was 10 - 15 years ago...or before cell phones became so common.
It also seems like if it was present day...a speaker like him might carry a laptop... (then he might have kept his list on there instead of flashcards).
It seemed that almost everything in the movie was designed to be as time neutral. What I found odd was there seemed to be a lot of 1960's inspired sets and clothing although I am not sure if this is more because it was made in Vancouver. Does anyone know?
