Motorcycle riding

I saw the scene where Frank was supposedly riding the motorcycle with no hands. The camera was close enough to show it was almost definitely Ryan Reynolds, and it looked amazingly "real".

Was it CGI'ed? Did they allow Reynolds to actually do that? Did they find a perfect stunt double for him? It had to be a double, right? Yeah, probably. The beard and all helps with the illusion.

I like answering my own questions.

Bikes like that one are very well balanced. So even a newbie can easily ride them free-handed. All riders do that on a long rides, though thats not recomended by a highway patrol ofc :)
Btw, i recently saw a video on youtube where dude lays (!) on his bike with his legs ahead and types smthing on his mobile (!!) while riding on a highway with pretty heavy traffic (!!!)

You can do that on a bike pretty easily. You just have to learn to balance your body weight on either side of the bike and also make sure that the handle is perfect.

The handle doesn't have to be perfect, cruising bikes like that have very fat tires, you can start one up and put a toddler on it and it'll keep going straight 'til it runs out of road.

Ryan Reynolds is a bike nut, those bikes are insanely safe to ride without hands unless you shake your body allover the place. The risk for the movie's insurance agency would have been minimal.

Opinions are just onions with pi in them.

jesse from monster garage rode for hours without his hands on the handle bars on one of their bike trips. you can do that on straight open highway.

see you auntie!

It's physics, the angular momentum augments with the angular velocity of the bike wheel making it very stable. It's one of the reasons motorcycles stay upright, and also the reason you can "counter-steer" a bike, for those who ride sport-bikes quite fast you can see that slightly pushing one side of the handles bars will make the bike lean on that same side.

its quite easy to do on a bike like that and Reynolds is a big bike nut, i have no doubts it was actually him and he probably asked for the scene to be written in
