I didn't like it

I saw the show on Netflix and I watched only the first episode of season 1. I did not like it at all!

First of all, Brian's girlfriend (the car girl), was extremely creepy and I did not find the whole her-occupying-his-apartment funny. I was kinda freaked out by it and I was thinking "Y the hell can't he call the cops or something? So goddamn weird"

And I found most of the scenes predictable. The second Brain met car girl I knew he would have a bad break up with her, and when Marjorie suggested drinking I immediately knew they would end up making out and regretting it...and when the couple were making out in the kitchen, I was like "uh-oh..one of the kids is gonna walk in"..and then bam! there the kid was.

There were also the usual cliches...the couple with the kids who have a bad sex life. I have only seen that a million times before. The guy having the hots for his best friend's girlfriend.

But I am confused cos the show is very popular and has a high rating on IMDB. So my question is..does the rest of the season get better??

I watched the entire series on Netflix only a couple months ago. I wouldn't say it gets better, but I don't particularly have as much of a dislike for the show as you seem to have. Haha. I guess it gets more interesting, but not necessarily better.

I completely understand the predictability and cliches upon cliches, but oddly enough it didn't bother me. The characters, I felt, were so distinct and clear with their personalities and whatnot that even the predictable events felt genuine because of who they were.

Not going to sit here and praise this show because it definitely had its problems (casting, storyline gaps, too many plots, etc), but it was enjoyable and interesting enough for me to watch every episode. Plus it's only 24 episodes long, so it's not terribly time-consuming. I'd give it a chance if you haven't already, but be prepared for a few random plot points...oh yeah and an unintentional cliffhanger since the series was canceled after only two seasons.
