Threshold v Invasion

I always viewed Threshold as a “educated mans” Invasion because I viewed Threshold as needed some thought to understand what was going on.

I saw Invasion as a bit dull and very “seen this before” compared to Threshold, which came across very new.

How disappointed was I when Threshold was cancelled mid series in the UK and Invasion was allowed to run. I had a little snigger today when checking IMDB I found that Invasion was also cancelled.

However even as I didn’t like it that much (Invasion) (but still watched it like a mindless zombie)

Why do Sci-Fi programs rarely get finished? It seems more than their fair share get cancelled.

I completely agree with you! "Threshold" never should have been canceled.

Invasion was a very addicting show towards the beginning and the end, but it felt like I'd already seen it before. I stuck with "Invasion" just because of the actors, William Fichtner who played Tom the Sherrif and Eddie Cibrian (Russel) - who looks a lot like Dean Cain.

Anyways, it was a good show, but Threshold was better, which had half the amount of episodes. CBS has a habit for cancelling amazing shows, including "Threshold" and "Early Edition". (CBS PLEASE don't cancel "Jericho")... CBS also didn't give "Threshold" the proper chance to shine, by not advertising it at all (I didn't see ONE commercial for Threshold the ENTIRE year of 2005). They also did not tell the viewers when a new episode would be on, like other stations do during the credits, usually showing a preview of the next episode.

Threshold had a HUGE potential of becoming the next "Lost", hopefully Scifi will realize it sometime within the next decade and pick it up...

Threshold was doing fine until they moved the air dates from fridays to tuesdays, then they lsot all viwer potential and cancelled it.

They should have like a rule where you cant cancel a show for a certain amount of time, no matter how good or bad.

Threshold becoming the new LOST, you make me laugh, and millions of others.
Invasion and Threshold hav 2 things in common,
starting of brilliant and then ending horibbly bad.

I prefered Invasion myself. I lost interest in Treshold after the first few episodes...

I don't think they are very comparable. Invasion was a character drama in its own way. It slowly built, and there were only a few conflicts that grew throughout the season. Threshold had one central problem, but the focus of the show was containment, which meant each new episode had a new plot, and usually there was a resolution of the episode's plot. Overall I probably liked invasion more because it became clear early on that it was going to be something that was going to take a few seasons to resolve, and would play out like a novel. Threshold on the other hand felt more like an anti X-Files. I liked them both tohugh.

This is not an exit.
