Plot points left hanging (spoilers)

I'm sure there are plenty of others, but these are some key plot points which were left hanging...

1. Was President eventually informed during time frame covered by the series?

2. What happens to Ed Whitaker, the new a*hole Dir. of National Security?

3. What's the deal with Molly's bloody noses?

4. What's the significance of the NASA file J.T. hands to Molly (end of Outbreak)? As he hands her the file, he looks at the file and says "I don't think I've said told you this before, but without a doubt, you're the best person for this job"

5. I read elsewhere in this forum that Molly's dream sequence near the end of Alienville (final episode) was added to tie up the plot after the series was cancelled. The boy tells her that the Plan will work, that we (humans) will eventually win. Does this mean Manning's story about the neutron star collision was B/S?
