Was there an ending?

They found out while they were shooting that it was going to be the last episode so they slipped in a scene where she finds out if they are going to win or loose to attempt a wrap up. The sad thing is it was planned as a three season show. Each season was going to have a unique title, Threshold, Foothold and Stranglehold. Essentially in the second season the aliens manage to establish beach heads and start to control parts of the country and world and in Stranglehold the third season they will have become the dominant race in the world. They never gave a hint of what turns the tide just that we would prevail in the end. The characters were the real strength of the series. The story was largely a rip off of a new Outer Limits episode called I believe "Song of the Spheres" but the characters were what carried the series not the concept.
