Outside the four main leads on Supernatural who are you personal favourite and least favourite characters and of course WHY that is?

Without a doubt BENNY. They lost a lot of opportunity with that character. He was the most interesting guest character to come out of the long running show. I was hoping he would at least become a semi regular. I liked his friendship with Dean. Like the Louisiana accent and that he kept calling Dean, Brotha ...lol ..
shareFavourite Rufus...there was a lot of potential with that character and could have had his own MOTW episodes where he and Bobby hunt down something....to give Jared/Jensen a break if they needed it. In the few episodes he was in, the actor brought a lot to the character and was a great addition that was unfortunately squandered for a shock death?? I don't know why else they would kill him unless the actor stated he didn't want to be on the show....but yeah I wish there was a lot more Rufus and Bobby.
Least favourite Crowley....he never appealed to me as a villain or ally. I felt his "fondness" for the boys was nothing but an excuse to prevent explaining him not killing them or vice versa. His mother also got on my nerves too.
Agree with your choice of Rufus. Steven Williams completely fleshed out that character from the get-go. Every now and then I'll rewatch S3E15 just to enjoy Dean and Rufus' exchange on the front porch. "SO!?" "YEAH, SO!?" Rufus was channeling my inner voice for whenever someone shows up at my door. As a plus, that episode introduced me to Johnny Walker Blue which I've had the pleasure of enjoying a couple of bottles of. My question is seeing how Rufus had somewhat refined tastes in his whiskey, why didn't he go for a Single Malt? Blended is good but single malt's rule.
My least favorite, if you can call it that, would be Ash. I know his character was there primarily as comic relief but it was over the top just a little. Almost cartoonish. I didn't dislike Ash, per se, I just thought his character fell just outside the realm of believability for Supernatural and I hail from the American South where mullets and sleeveless flannel shirts roam freely. Hits too close to home?, you ask? Nah, not close enough is what I'm saying. Having said that, I still enjoy the eps he's in.
I agree with Galactus, Benny was my all time favorite. In fact now that Hell may be opened I'm wondering if we might see him. One can hope. I really don't have any least favorite character.
shareThanks everyone for the lovely replies to this thread, to be honest I thought Benny was a popular character but not this popular. I found him hard to gel with, but can see why many took him to their hearts. I did however, love Rufus and his dynamics with Bobby, even though I am not a Bobby fan either. I adore Crowley, and really miss him, but agree with comments about Ash. It took me a while to get my head around his character even though it was brief. He was a strange one to get to know.
