Season 14 of Supernatural

Before I head off to Vancouver, thought I'd talk about Season 14. For me, Season 14 is right at the bottom, but 5% better than Season 12.

There were a few good episodes, Mint Condition, Nightmare Logic, Lebanon, Optimism, and Peace of Mind. I thought the premiere and the midseason finale and premiere were also good. The Scar, Byzantium, and Don't Go in the Woods were decent episodes, I thought.

Now, for the disappointments of the season.

The constant force in keeping Mark Pellegrino around. Did they have to write such a crappy reason for Nick to still be alive, or at least make it interesting? I was SO disappointed to see him back. As an actor, I don't think he played Nick any different. His story of finding out what happened to his family is like 10 years late of who cares? Then instead of choosing what he's been searching for - his dead wife, he leaves her because he wants Lucifer back. It dragged the season down, I didn't care, I had no reaction to his "death" because it's like, sure, OK, maybe? They didn't even burn his body..

Micheal!Dean wasted. Michael was only as Dean for less than full 2 episodes and what injured him was a random spear, not an arch angel blade. This spear didn't get a well deserved background and we just went along that it was going to do the trick. Now it's broken and Dark Kai is MIA. Mikey did return for a few brief moments and it almost felt like it was going to be intense and go somewhere, oh nope, Jack magically killed him...

Jack. Before I "go there" - I don't hate this kid, I continue to disagree with his storyline. I do like him hunting with the boys, but I liked him being without grace. He was going to be a hunter like the boys without any powers. And instead of him being a "real boy" they make him sick. There's really no good reasoning for it. So, Jack is the son of a human and arch angel, but apparently wouldn't survive without his grace. But a "regular" nephilim or angel would be totally fine without their grace? Makes no logical sense. I know it's a fantasy show, but in the medical department, I really wish they'd come up with something better, or notice how he's different. Overall I really didn't like this story. It took away what they should've been doing this season, dealing with Michael!Dean.

I would go into detail on my disappointment with Chuck turning a 180, but why waste the energy. I'm not for it, it feels off and rushed. I do see reasons for Chuck being this bad guy, but I still do not like him being God. Here's hoping Season 15 is better than the last 3 seasons.
