I know and appreciate the ending has been done to death, but I really love time travel episodes, and our writers really do them so well, and think this could really, really work.

I too love Time Travel episodes...I'm quite a sucker for them.
Again, didn't fully read the article...bad habit I guess. I saw something about stopping Mary from making the deal, this would cause Sam and Dean to never be born, but a risk I know they are willing to make, BUT we all know how that turned out = AU world.
Also, if the boys travel back in time, I would think God/Chuck would pick up on this and try to stop them, meaning he would find them...I assume like that...and battle in the past.
But again, what would be their agenda for going back in time? How would that stop Chuck/God? And how would they find the tools to time travel? Jack would probably be able, to changing one thing, can change everything...the sticky of time travel.
