Supernatural stars tease if God is evil as he battles the Winchesters in final season

What I don't get is why do people still call God, 'Chuck' as if its a mistake? 'Chuck' is God. God has used 'Chuck's' vessel to parade around in and to house him. So why the confusion, or am I?

Before reading the article and just replying to you. I think there is a split with some people, that Chuck isn't God. It also could be because Chuck also mentioned, he didn't like to be called God.

I find it quite annoying. I also don't mean to be a dick, but why would God pick a vessel?...that is Chuck... I honestly think he'd be more powerful to make any "vessel/look" he wanted. Same goes for Amara...but mainly God, seems like a lie. Sorry. Even as I rewatched the show, making Chuck the profit, God was such a 180 and fan pleaser imo. Not to mention Rob's friendship with the cast...and I'm again sorry, but it's lazy to me when they do that. Give roles to friends, or because someone is directing *Amanda Tapping or *Richard, oh hell, since your going to be around lets bring you both back! (Naomi and Gabriel)

Sorry again, I went off the path of your question.

But I see God an old wise man, but that's not Supernatural's perspective of God obviously and that's probably the reason why they decided for Chuck to be God. I don't know why it bothers me so much, I'm not a religious-church-going person. Like the Apprentice in Once Upon a Time, he's more God than Chuck.

So are you saying they are two separate people/identities?
I have never seen Rob Benedict as God, he to me never really sold it to me. Its only in recent outings, I have got a bit more used to him being around aware he could be him, if that makes sense. I too, see god as you do as a WISE OLD man. Not someone in his 40/50's soz don't know Rob's age.

I know I am in my senior years, but I'm not that old that I feel rather confused right now :(

I am not a church going person if this helps either.

reply

...yes and no. Sorry that might confuse you more. The fact that he has 2 names, doesn't help.
If he's not God, then yes. He was portraying a writer and waited eons to reveal his identity. That alone seems so out of the blue to me, I know the Darkness showed up, but I'm very disappointed with that mythology. I almost thought Joshua was God at one point, but then they killed him off.

Chucks' story obsession bothers me and doesn't speak God. It sounds more like a writers fandom gone horrible wrong, like fan fiction (not the episode). I mean come on, they DID this already with Metatron..

The fact that both of us aren't church people, and not that fond of the portrayal of God, shows how their God mythology is disappointing.

Looks as if Michael got it right when he was possessing Dean. God, Chuck. Doesn’t care. Creates one world, moves on to the next. I love how Jensen played that scene. You could really feel the hurt, disappointment, anger in Michael. As the viewer, part of me was thinking, “No. That can’t be right. God would never. Michaels crazy. Insane.” But then remember Castiels response? Even he doubted for a moment. Looking at this in hindsight after seeing the season finale makes you view it in an entirely different manner and it makes more sense after Chucks reveal.

You have to wonder - if after figuring things out, AU Michael took the news as badly as he did... how is Sam and Deans Michael from Da Cage going to feel about it?

Personally i just wish they would just drop the whole God thing. It's stupid and really paints the show in a corner. Lets hope the writers clear it up...

I think that's why they wanted to write this plot in the first place, because they wanted to wrap the show up. It was a story line that could end the show because you can't really go any higher than God as the villain.

I like it, and hope they think it was worth bringing him in as the big bad.

Well I guess they can explain that he's not really God that created the universe but just an arrogant close to omnipotent cosmic being, alien whatever that MAYBE help plant the seeds of humanity and created Angels and Demons who are also duped into thinking they are somehow important to the balance of the universe. Would be great and satisfying to me if they went that route. The Winchester's, Cass etc all have been played for thousands of years ...doubtful it's going that way though. ..lol....
