Sorry Bella,I couldn't watch it because they aired a High School football game of the week on my CW network. Now I have too wait till Saturday night to watch it.:(

Hey, don't know if you'd watched it yet.
I kinda liked it. It had some interesting moments, but it got a bit cheezy with too much pep talk.
I like that Bobby's back, but it's not the same Bobby. Before, he had a personal connection with the guys, and it made him more than just another character. Now... We'll see.

Hi finally got around to watching it.

Sam being overwhelmed by his and everyone else's business I get. The fight in the bar, I missed Dean but liked that Sam saved himself and the declaration that no demon can replace Crowley even when they do their best Crowley impression.

Got that Jensen was playing Michael as someone who is thoroughly unimpressed by the hypocrisy of all around.

But I am still not connecting with Mary and that is a major thing as I got that Mary is a flawed individual that is now somehow redeemed by showing that the world would have gone to hell if she hadn't made the deal last season, but they have also positioning her as a mother who would have been willing to put a gun in Sam's hand as a kid if she felt it was necessary. So I can't help but think if that is Mary, why can't we get some sort of similar redemption arc for John instead of simply making the parental plot this season as Mary giving goo goo eyes at not our Bobby.

Gawd not AUBobby and Mary. I literally cringed at that moment where they shared a couple beers. So not buying it. Shouldn’t there be some chemistry? Psychotic killer Ketch or AUBobby. No contest.

I’m liking MichaelDean. Very curious to see where they take it. Please Dabb give Jensen a chance to explore the character before you abruptly end it. I’ll even buy into the Mary/AUBobby relationship if you do.

The one thing I didn’t care for was all the Sam pimping. Not because I don’t care about Sam. Not because I don’t think he would make a good leader and has in the past. Not because I think Dean will feel displaced when he returns. Not because the AU crowd are acknowledging Sam as in charge. Simply because what he did in the episode for the most part wasn’t anything above and beyond what Dean would have done. Sam standing up to Kip? Exact same thing Dean would do. The battle, the logistics, planning? Nothing different than Dean. The demons shaking in their boots about to piss their pants out of fear over Sam? Please. I wouldn’t have even bought that scene even if it were Dean in Sams place. Were the demons so impressed because Sam took out their blowhard of a leader? Honestly Kip didn’t really seem like all that much of a fight. Ramael was scarier with his pocketwatch countdown. Question? Where did all the TK abilities go? Why didn’t Kip just fling Sam - Hell, everyone - against a wall, hold him/them there and let the demons have at them? I like Sam in a leadership role but let’s not oversell it. Which is exactly what I think they did here.

Sam showed that he could handle a lot of balls in the air but if it had been Dean in his place I think he would have been more laser focused on finding his brother. I also think Dean would have had a handle on where Cas was especially because he is the one with the angel/Archangel knowledge. A resource he would not have wanted to be without when seeking out Michael.

In fairness, I think these writers seem to dangle a plot in our faces then take so many episodes in before we get to see Sam or Dean for that matter really do something. Sam at present has loads to deal with, including looking for Dean. Where in past seasons that's all he had to do was really look for his brother. S8 being NO exception where he didn't look. And for that reason I am so damned pleased the writers are at least making SAM LOOK! Nothing infuriated me more back then than that huge, horrible plot. I still hate it today at least we got to seem a Sam redemption arc and know he did wrong in not looking. So for him to take on leadership of all those people, search for Dean and figure a way to get him back, also get the AU people home is a huge take on for anyone.

I am more surprised that Cas and Jack if I am honest are not doing more to look for Dean. All Cas did was get the whole team in danger by leading them into a pack of Demons. Lucky for him they got the upper hand and won. Sam taking on leadership of the demons though to me seems a bit vague and far fetched. I also thought Sam was better than that. Is it something Dean would have done, we ask ourselves? God, know one knows how I miss Crowley?? It did however, feel that plot was very lame and could have been written better.

FYI: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO relationship for Mary and Booby PLEASSSSSSSSEEEE hate the thought of it, just don't go there feels icky.

Bobby and Mary seems like a fanfiction writers wet dream to me. Especially as they are setting this up while her eldest son is basically being held hostage by an archangel, which only happened because he went after her after she got stuck in another world because she went to punch Lucifer in the face. Plus Mary to me still does not feel like a mother, even though the brothers are supposed to be physically older than her. Jodie with everyone and even Donna with her niece felt motherly, Mary not so much.

But also part of me wonders if the true Bobby would actually get on with Mary off the bat or be a bit stand offish and I'm not saying that only in part due to her actions with the men of letters (though I don't think Sam and Dean would have been involved with them if Bobby was still about in any fashion).

I say this because that Bobby saw the way the boys were raised. So how would he take to the woman who was John's justification for almost all his actions especially considering we know she isn't perfect now?

Personally I don't think he'd be so open with her at first and I don't think he'd be into her like AU Bobby is. Because he would faced with a woman he knew made a deal that involved access to her kids, but didn't seem to do anything to negate it while still being part of the hunting world when she felt like it. Especially as it still seems to be cannon that John was kept in the dark by her while she went on hunting trips while knowing that it could come knocking at her door and hitting John and the boys in the face. So what would our Bobby be like when faced with a hunter who knew what was possibly coming to their door and did nothing to protect or even prepare her family?

In that situation I could see our Bobby being a little more forgiving about John being a dick (not about the way he kept the boys but the whole not really trusting the very few in the hunting community he was willing to spend time with) and a bit judgy about Mary even once the boys forgave her.

Plus I find it kind of creepy that AU Bobby seemed to have either been AU Mary's fuckbuddy or pined to be. So basically he is switching his old flame for a younger model in almost every sense of the word!

Killer Ketch would be more interesting for her to have a relationship with or even just a normal guy in town. Watching Mary deal with trying to have a normal relationship with a normal guy when she is out of her time might be more interesting considering her past.

OKay rant about that over!!!!!

As for the demon bit and Sam. Kip copying Crowley is funny - guess the idea is that hell has lost it confidence in huge ways especially if he was a guy who went around with Ghengis Khan who for the time was a fair ruler outside the killing and conquering. But agree with you about the TK - those demons could subdue Cas but couldn't deal with Sam who seemed the most competent fighter there? OMG Bad writing.

Guessing they are setting up the whole world and especially those in the bunker not trusting Dean when he comes back or second guessing his every move and going to Sam instead.
