Wow. I've never seen this show, but with that many episodes, it might be worth trying to watch because if I like it, then I don't have to worry about it not lasting long.

Is it worth watching or is it some typical angsty, teen-oriented CW type show?

Definitely worth a watch. A couple of duff seasons but on the whole, decent. Some fantastic concept/experimental episodes too. Good mix of action, humour, story, supernatural lore, pop culture references, classic rock and blood and guts.
