I Thought This Was Funny

It's a poll for the most loved/hated villains on CW shows. The Supernatural writers are coming in a close second to Ketch.

Ketch was the villain we loved to hate. We hate hating them but we hate the writers anyway. At least it's nice to know that I'm not alone in my opinion of the writing for S12.

reply

Yeah, I think that's the difference. I actually quite liked Ketch in a love to hate kind of way by the end of his run, and I like DHJ. I think he'd be amused and maybe appreciative if he won this, which is why I wouldn't mind if he won, but at the same time, I think it'd be funny in an admittedly mean-spirited sort of way if the writers won for being out and out hated. I doubt it'd get the point across though even if they somehow heard about it.

The writers are catching up.

They should win with ease. They were actually the "Big Bad'" of the year in my book.

. "And then the ultimate betrayal came when they cheapened Crowley’s heroic sacrifice for the boys. Allowing Lucifer to do what he did after Crowley killed himself to seal the rift was so cruel to Mark and his fans. The fact that the rift only sealed after Lucifer came out and bragged then got his ass kicked by Mary and then still had enough time to yank Mary through as well for them both to be trapped on the other side? Seemed like a cheap shot for an actor, a character, and his fans who didn’t deserve that after his heroic sacrifice."

This is so true. No wonder Mark and his fans are hurt and pissed off.

reply

Lol, I voted for the writers.
I hated 95% of season 12 and they managed to make me lose interest in Supernatural.

reply

Same here. Although, it's not just season 12 IMO. The quality of the writing was constantly deteriorating since the end of season 9.

reply

We can definitely agree on season 12 but I LOVED season 10 and 11. Season 11 is actually in my Top 5 so, it's less about the show aging for me and strictly about Andrew Dabb destroying almost everything I loved about it.

reply

I loved 10 and 11 (until Dabb screwed it up) as well. I don't buy that just because the show is 12 years old the quality has to decline. All it takes is a leader with a vision. Unfortunately Dabb is trying to deconstruct and repackage a product that the customers were already happy with. I don't know where he got the idea that fans were bored with the epic story of the Winchesters and he needed to sell us New Coke.

Sigh, I know. Typical problem of a new showrunner coming in, getting drunk on power and trying to make their "mark" by showing how innovative and different they are. Please.😒That approach gave us half a season of Soulless Sam and Sam not looking. Don't mess with the winning formula.
