Just a rumor I read, NBC..

may consider picking it up for this Winter. I read over on the WB's message board, but the user who claimed this did not give a source. Maybe they will since I and one other asked them about that.

Let's Hope!

that would be awesome!!! go NBC!!!!!

Whoa that would be insane. I'm hoping something happens with that.

Gonna go poke around at some more reliable online sources and see what I can come up with. How do you think they'll deal with the whole Pepper/Charlie situation though? I mean wouldn't the story have originally been to keep em apart for much longer? What now? Sadly the last ep's ratings were hideous but maybe NBC won't notice (knock on wood) cuz the ratings indicate not many people even saw it and thus nobody will know the ending. They can ignore it and funnily enough, nobody'd really notice but us more loyal fans.

Ok I looked and I don't see anything thus far. Also sadly I can't find a watercooler thing on TV Guide for the show anymore. Nobody bothered to give a crap that it's on anymore I guess. Kinda depressing.

I did however find out that technically Pepper's finale beat Veronica Mars according to Zap2it.com. At least that's what they wrote so that's what I'm passing on.

I think that was meant as a joke, considering that NBC has been at the bottom of the ratings since FRIENDS ended.

Pepper fell apart because it was kept til midseason for Rebecca's X-Men committment plus it was launched on the WB. If NBC had it to begin with as a regular show, I bet it'd have gotten something like another season or at least another 13 episodes. It's hard for the WB to drum up ratings for much of anything compared to the networks. And what would Pepper do? Bring NBC even farther into the crapper? What do they have to lose? When another network mishandles a show and your network doesn't have anything like it, well you could do worse than consider it.

Plus if Veronica Mars gets renewed and Pepper's finale beat it, obviously the ratings get put into perspective that is a little more in Pepper's favor.

I guess it's that kind of thinking that caused the downfall of both UPN and THE WB. Maybe next year The CW will merge with NBC.

They can't really pick it up. The story has ended in a way. Pepper married Charlie and seemed pretty happy about doing it.

If you watched the episode you would see, almost all the issues are cleared. Kathy gets a guy, Chick gets a girl, and the Relationship between Kimmy and Pepper's brother ended.

It could stand for like two more episodes, Pepper meeting the Babcocks and Charlie meeting the Dinkles and Kathy dating the agent, etc. But that's really it.

reply

well pepper and charlie could always not work out how they wanted... kathy can get married to the guy... chick can catch blanca cheating on him... and kimmy can find herself another guy! making up stories and problems for fictional stories is not very hard.. its just that PD is not being made anymore to create more conflict so they ended it on a happy note.

Well, if Pepper and Babcock are happily married then, yea, the show is over and nobody can pick it up.

Did anyone see Pepper and Babcock actually get married?
I didn't think so.

Even if they did get married, the marriage couldn't possibly work. She'd be throwing eggs at a billboard within a week. Babcock is insecure, self-absorbed and superficial. Pepper is a confident, self-absorbed and self-righteous. Compatible? That's a laugh! The only thing they have in common is being self-absorbed.

- moolisa8 "chick can catch blanca cheating on him..."

Exactly. Blanca cheating on Chick at some point is almost a given.

Actually, Charlie could cheat on Pepper with Blanca thereby solving two problems with the storyline at once. Of course, Pepper will have doubts about whether Babcock actually cheated or not, and will still be in love with him, in a distrusting, resentful way.

So, in other words, everything would be back to normal.

They didn't show them ACTUALLY getting married.
