Should of made it like the original

The Original was Far more better this the remake,They should of brought a little humor to the show like Carl did. They didn't have to use profanity to make it funny,or have the star dress like a bum and have a sidekick.

This show was dry,And I would watch the old episodes anytime. The remake was a waste.

The last "Kolchak: the Night Stalker" anthology came out the same time as this series. It was far more entertaining just because it featured the original "Kolchak".

The remake had lots of humor after the pilot. Did you bother watching more than one episode? And the humor didn't come from profanity.

Not to mention the new one was much more believable.

I hate the old one, it's just beyond ridiculous and didn't age well at all.

The original Night Stalker was way better then the remake. And you say profanity? Have YOU watched the original Night Stalker? They hardly ever cursed in that show.

The reason the older version wasn't as realistic was probaly because they didn't have the many special effects as they do now. The original may not have last long but which one was more popular? Plus had two successfully movies?

...The first two Kolchak movies where great, but the TV series was severally lacking. Many of the stories were just plain goofy. Especially that one about the headless motorcycle rider. The special effects in that episode were just horrible and they ruined the story.

Yeah, I missed the original's humor. It can't be all bleak all the time.

Amen. I see there is another one in development. I hope they look at the first one more and learn from the mistakes of the second one.

The humor made it work and the second was too dark. There were also too many plot lines to keep up with. The charm of Kolchak was that he was a misfit and went charging into his projects solo. He often found himself in over his head and had to use his wits to get out of trouble and take care of business. He often had to make up his tactics as he went along. There was also the element that no matter how well he succeeded in "slaying the monster", he would write up the story but know that no one would ever believe it and it would not get printed. The National Enquirer and the Weekly World News would not even touch his stories. If he told too many people about what he was doing he would have been locked up as insane. I had always wanted to see Darren McGavin as Kolchak meet Scully and Maulder in an X Files episode and pass on them the work he had done. What an angle. Good luck on the new one and try to find someone who can make it convincing and funny.
