Why couldn't it stay?

I am so disappointed with FOX's decision to axe The Loop before it even started its second season. The Loop is a true comic gem. I doubt their will ever be another show that pushs the envelope with its humor like The Loop has. The writers of the show should have gone to Comedy Central with their proposal. I do believe Comedy Central would have welcomed The Loop with open arms and definately pushed the show past two shortened seasons. If only, if only.

reply

Hell, they cancelled Dark Angel and Tru Calling...and I loved The Loop...one of the funniest shows I've seen in a long time. I really don't care for that network anymore.

reply

fox sucks ass. they keep til death? that show sucks! we should petition and bring it back like family guy.

Ninjas are cool, and by cool, i mean awesome.

reply

When they resurrected Family Guy the first new episode was a huge list of all the shows that Fox had aired and shot down in between. I'm fried they iced Standoff, Kitchen Confidential, and Greg The Bunny.

Yeah, Arrested Developement too! GRRRR...

Exactly...how's about "The O.C."? That was a good show..and the Fourth Season was getting good...damn FOX. They also cancelled "Drive", and never gave it a chance..

The OC was always a teen soap opera at its core, and those tend to fall apart once high school graduation comes around. Even Josh Schwartz was saying that they weren't all going to attend "Orange County University" in order to keep the cast together. At least they gave it a final episode.

I loved 'The Loop'. I hadn't seen many episodes in Australia but was hooked from the second episode of season one. I missed the pilot. Yet again Fox has killed a really good funny show. One of the best I've seen in a long time.

I too love shows like 'Tru Calling', 'Arrested Development' 'Boston Public'. There are heaps all given the axe far too soon. I really don't have time for Fox anymore. They say they give shows a chance. Okay they might, but they don't give them much of a chance at all. That's a real pity. I didn't know they killed the show until I checked here.

I'd love a channel people can turn to to see good shows that were given the axe by other networks given a new lease of life somewhere else until they are totally out of ideas and ready to finish. That would be a better idea.

unfortunately, i don't think it will be back in the fall regardless - Bret is starring in a new series on the CW. it actually looks pretty good!

you can't blame fox, or other networks for the viewing public's tastes. smart shows get canceled because they have crappy ratings. look at 30Rock, the funniest, smartest show to come along after the arrested development debacle. it won't last more than 2-3 seasons either.

reply

Yeah, spot-on prediction there. [/sarcasm]

No. It's become very evident that Fox (especially, but other networks as well) intentionally sabotages every show that requires paid talent. Always changing time slots without reason, inexplicable cast changes, random and indefinite breaks between episodes and seasons, unqualified decisions to change the order of episodes that only serve to confuse any story arcs, and of course no public notice of any of these "executive" decisions make almost everything they air impossible to build an audience.

Shows that maintain consistency? "Reality" type programming whose only overhead is flat-rate crew union salaries and MAYBE a one time prize award that's less than a single actor's single episode cost.

Fox is the most worthless network in the business.

Don't steal. The government hates the competition.

reply

That implies that the cast didn't get new jobs shortly after being cancelled. For example, they've already dismantled the Studio 60 sets.

reply

they cancelled FAMILY GUY too... untill they sold millions of DVD... THEN they decided to bring it back on

FOX is only good for MAN Vs. ANIMAL Specials

reply

Fox sucks. they keep American Dad, Till Death, American Idol. and they kick The Loop, and Arrested development. and if yall remember "Life on a Stick" they cancled that too. no wonder no one watched the free channels any more. they cancel all the good shows.
