Kind of. I mean Russ is VERY similar to Bob Kelso, and Sam is kind of like JD. It works, though. It's not a total rip-off or anything.

This show is motivated by and revolves around the tension between a 20-something's single/social life and professional life. All the episodes in the first season (haven't seen the second yet) have revolved around this conflict. The scrubs-formula is completely different.

Have you ever even seen an episode of Scrubs? The majority of Scrubs episodes are the main characters, who are mostly mid-20s, trying to balance their social and professional life lol.
There is no way the Loop is a rip off of Scrubs. The Loop is funny and a good show where as Scrubs sucks.

Dude it's a total rip off. I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw this show. And keep in mind most of these people commenting on how Scrubs sucks have probably never seen Scrubs. And everyone in the world know TURK IS TOTAL OWNAGE!!!

I've seen maybe 30 episodes, and I have to say the comedy/drama is much more focused on this aspect in The Loop than Scrubs.

You know every show is going to have similarities to other preexisting shows. It is very hard to create a totally new idea for a show, and even if someone does create a new idea someone else is going to say it is like this or like that. You could say "Scrubs" is like "Cheers" or "Night Court" and so on and on. But it is more like "Family Guy" in my view, but it is actually not any of them and a bit of all of them.

I personally prefer this show to SCRUBS which is a show I never liked. SCRUBS has a smugness to it and everyone mugs for the camera to get laughs. Plus, it always has the lame coda where an emo song plays and J.D. explains the audience the lesson that he learned that week.

Fan of both, but I have to say I don't see them as all that similar. Plus, it's a tough comparison to make. Scrubs, I think, has been phoning it in for about the last 2-3 years, whereas The Loop was just hitting its stride.

The Loop is a repackaged Three's Company, or at least it was when it had the chicks for roommates. Now, hmm...it's more Mary Hart.
