I have never heard of it but it's on sale at my videostore. Is it worth buying?

It's a great show, but I warn you that in the end you'll be disappointed that it ended way to soon. I wish I would have known about it when it was still on.
shareI'm not saying you shouldn't buy it because it's just my opinion and a lot of people seem to love it but honestly, I've had the complete series since February (now July) and I've only watched 3 episodes. I found it very boring. And I like shows like this. Maybe it gets better but ussually I like shows from the beginning if I'll ever like them. I'd say maybe watch the first episode online or something, if you can find it, and if you like it buy it.
I bought it and I wasted $30 because I will only finish it if I'm desperate. I guess I'll think twice before blind-buying complete series' before knowing anything about it. I pretty much saw the word 'alien' and though I'd love it because I like Sci-Fi a lot.

It does speed up after the first few episodes. That's worth noting. I watched the show kind of backwards, started episode 17 while it was on TV and bought the dvd set as soon as possible so I could watch it all, so it's hard for me to have a perspective on that.
I do love the show, but I'm sure not every one will. But if you do like Sci Fi, maybe just persevere a couple more episodes, you may be used to shows at a quicker pace, and on that it will deliver. As you get more into it there's way more going on.
By episode 6 you'll love it

shareI bought this show about two months ago. I have a strange fixation with alien shows that end up getting canceled. (I've also bought: War of the Worlds, V, The Invaders, and Threshold.) I will warn you things don't start to get exciting until episode 9, and then things take off very fast. Other than that, I've really enjoyed the show. Down to 3 episodes left to watch.

Yes, next question. I actually lost a disk and wound up buying it a second time. It was dirt cheap on Amazon. Really sad for such a great show!
shareHonestly, it's a show that was ahead of it's time (not to mention the time slot 11pm is what really killed it). If it aired today it would have been extremely popular. If you like the feel of Falling Skies, The Dome, then give it a shot. (it's got better writing that those two shows btw)
