Did the writers/producers/costumers not like Robin?

They so often put her in hideous outfits.

For example, I am watching "The Wedding" ... they put her in a red, fringed dress (perfect if you work in a Wild West brothel).

At her own wedding, they had her in a dress that would be more appropriate if she were hanging upside down at a butcher's shop.

Why?

LOL. I have to admit, I was wondering the same thing.

YIKES!

Not picturing the red outfit, but I always thought her wedding dress was ghastly. It looked like she was wrapped up mummy style in tape.

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.

Here's a pic. But I have to warn you: once you see it, you can't UNSEE it.

Is that fringe? I always thought it was just a stripe made out of velvet or something. It's just hard to google "robin himym the wedding episode" or similar and not just get her wedding pics. But I do remember some posts in the last couple seasons criticizing Robin's wardrobe (not something I personally noticed) so maybe there was something to the way she was dressed.

"...Wild West brothel."
That description pretty much nails it.

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

I had to browse through some pictures to see what she actually wore. I don't think it was that bad. I was more curious about Lily's wardrobe when it was an actual plot point that she spent too much on expensive clothes, when I didn't see any nice clothes on her. I suppose it added a sense of realism that sometimes their clothes were ill-fitting or unflattering and not just polished latest trends. To be honest I didn't like any of the wedding dresses. There was always just something too much, or too little or just otherwise off.

Fun topic, will go overboard on it!

I will agree that Tracy's wedding dress was basic and look ill-fitted, Robin's had weird sleeves, but I thought Lily's was nice if not still a simple strapless dress with some embellishments. I thought it was fine. I thought Lily's pink bridesmaid dress was awful and not something Robin would have picked out. Robin's dress for Lily's wedding was also basic standard bridesmaid. I can't hate on Robin's T-shirt for the first attempt at the L/M wedding. Lily and Robin dressed for Ted's wedding was sad (not because of the outfits, but because apparently Tracy has no friends or relatives). Victoria's wedding dress had a one shoulder sleeve ruffle which I didn't care for. I think Stella's wedding dress looked like a basic evening dress in white (not very interesting halter top style). Claudia's was a really boring, plain strapless dress. Virginia's was I think decent considering it was a second wedding, it seemed appropriate for an older woman.

Wait, was that all of them? I will agree that none of the wedding dresses were great.
