Ted question

How come Ted doesn't sound like Bob Sagat anymore in the last episode?

He didn't need

reply

Didn't need what?

reply

He didn't need to sound like Bob Saget anymore, narration was over.

reply

But why did he need a different voice for narration?

reply

So that we the viewrs can distinguish Future Ted and Prent Ted. Also less work for Josh Radnor

reply

It's pretty weird though when we see older Ted in the last episode and he sounds like Radnor again.

reply

It's not weird, it's the Ted we've been watching for 9 seasons talking like Ted.

reply

Why couldn't Josh Radnor narrate?

It worked perfectly well in The Shawshank Redemption. It's not like we got confused when we heard Morgan Freeman narrate AND saw him on the screen.

reply

Like I said, too much extra work for Josh Radnor and Bob Saget sounds like a Dad

reply

Stupidly, I didn't even realize it was a different actor at first, but I agree that Bob Saget has a "dad" voice.

I remember reading one possible explanation that the "Josh-Voice" is how other people hear Ted, and the "Bob-Voice" is how Ted hears himself. Obviously fanmade, and may be a joke, but it kind of works, but obviously I know it was to differentiate which Ted was talking.
