How is Andrea related to the other Crumbs?

I just noticed that imdb shows Maggie Lawson character as Andrea Crumb. Is she a relative of the other Crumbs?

I remember in the pilot that Andrea said that she was Mitch's beard for the senior prom, but I didn't think they were related.

This is a very good show, though I wish Jane Curtin's character would be a little less shrill -- almost too realistic, and it makes me somewhat uncomfortable. I feel that I shouldn't be laughing at a crazy lady -- just shows how good Jane Curtin is as an actress.

I was wondering the same thing about Andrea. It doesn't make any sense given what was said in the pilot, even if she was a cousin or something, she'd still be a blood relative and obviously has the same last name.

I saw in one of the shows where they refer to having a son pass away, so possibly is she the widow, hence Curtin's and DeVane's characters' daughter in law?

No, she's not the widow. Somebody screwed up when adding her credit to the imdb (note that half of the Crumbs don't have last names filled in). Her character's last name IS Malone. Tried to fix it, but since imdb's changing over their format for episode guides, the system won't let me at the moment.
