Why Did Nicky/Jackson Rathbone Leave?

I just started watching this show on re-runs on Cosmo Tv and even decided to buy the dvd. Unfortunately I just found out that Nicky leaves, and I was wondering why? I loved him with Sophie and absolutely hate Chris. I have to admit that once Nicky/Jackson left I sort of lost interest. He was so cute and nice, unlike Chris who comes across as a cheap imitation of Jess from Gilmore Girls. Maybe that is why it was canceled. At lest I can see Jackson in the Twilight when it comes out.

I just started watching it on Cosmo TV too. I liked Nicky at first but I couldn't stand him near the end. I actually thought that Chris and Sophie were really good together, I think the show was really finding it's groove around the time it was canceled.

I think Twilight was the reason that he left. I guess that he had to leave so that he could go and film the movie, and by the time that the movie was done shooting, so was the series.

This was filmed in 2005/2006. Like 3 years before Twilight.

Exactly what I was thinking. He didn't leave because of Twilight. I wonder what the real reason is.

It might have not even been because of anything. They could have just wanted him out of the picture for a while so that Sophie could start going out with Chris and maybe something could happen with her mom and his dad. Then if they had come back for a second season, they could have had a crazy love triangle thing going on.

I don't know, but they couldn't have been anymore obvious about it from the 9th episode when it returned. The series goes on filming hiatus with Nicky and Sophie finally together and then Nicky all of a sudden turns into a lunatic about Lynn and his Dad while Chris is introduced. It seemed like such cheap and obvious writing really.

Nicky leaves to be with his mom and after she and his dad separate/divorce.
