Sarah Foret (Sophie Kerr), beautiful?? LOL, since when?

Sometimes I get really surprised with the cast of some TV series...specially with one wich is called "Beutifull People" where the actresses would suposed to be "beutifull'...don't get me wrong, Daphne Zuniga (Lynn Kerr) and Torrey DeVitto (Karen Kerr) are two beutifull women...but why the hell Sarah Foret (Sophie Kerr), was casted for this series??

In my opinion she's everything but beutifull...she's fat, badly dressed, her acting seems to be straight from an high scholl show and she has that 'saint' look that I hate in women....her acting seems false and not truthfull at all, in real life things simply aren't like that...too much fictional in my modest opinion...

And with that huge problem, the series looses all the interest and keeps that 'saint look' that is far from reality!! what a shame...

I really don't understand how some casting are beeing done in some TV series and this one is a perfect example of a bad choice ruining a series that could have another dimension...I often see good TV series whit excelent casts beeing cancelled after a few episodes or a few seasons (like Threshold, Sanctuary, Surface and even Sarah Connor Chronicles or SG Atlantis) and then people are beeing 'forced' to see garbage like that...I simply don't get it!!

I've just finished seeing "Harper's Island", and even if the main actress isnt't a beutifull women (cute but not 'hot'), she's an excelent actress and makes you wish for more series like that one...completely the oposite of "Beautifull People"...it's boring, not truthfull and a complete failure!

I really don't get it...why the hell they would cast someone like that for a part like that...maybe some people wont agree with me, but I really would expect more from a series with that tittle...I'm really disapointed!!

Any opinions?

While I do agree that Sarah Foret is not exactly a beauty (not ugly either, just average and occasionaly cute), has it ever occurred to you that the title may refer to the character's insides as opposed as to how they look outside? Regardless of whether or not you find Sophie to be realistic, she's supposed to be a really nice girl, so in that regard the title actually fits.
Besides, you don't get to complain about good shows that are cancelled far too early leaving people to watch garbage, because in case you didn't notice, "Beautiful People" is one of them. This show never made it past the first season.

Well...I understand your point of view and I respect it...but I don't agree with some things...

First, I didn't knew that the series only lasted one season (here in my country it started a few weeks ago), but that only confirms what I said about the casting and the lack of realistic beahvior from Sarah Foret's part....and if the main tittle refers to 'inside beauty' and they all supposed to be 'nice girls'...well, then she's the only one that fits in that description, because her 'sister and mother' live realistic lives in the series and are everything but 'nice girls'...

As I said early, life just isn't like Sarah Foret character tries to portrait it...it seems that she stopped in time with that old family values that today nobody cares about (sad but true)...she'e too 'saint' to be truth and in my opinion that's the series biggest flaw! (nobody wants to see 'nice girls' in a conteporany show)

And I have to say, as a man, I don't find her not even a bit cute...she's not ugly, that's true but she's not cute or beutifull either...and she was a wrong choice for that part...I can't watch the series exactly because of her, she hasn't the right profile...and it seems that the producers didn't liked the result either since you say the series was cancelled....

But well...everyone has a right to they're own opinion.... :-)

if it's any consolation she isn't setting the hollywood scene on fire...the last thing she did was guest stint on the mentalist and that was painful to watch...aslong as there are other actresses out there with her look but with more of an edge then she'll be floundering...

I have been watching this show on Netflix and from the first episode Gideon refers to the Rich Kids as The BP's.

Now to my opinion:

I cannot stand Sophie's voice. It is very annoying. While she isn't beautiful she is cute, yeah. However I dont see two guys in school fighting over her. LOL. Especially Nicky.

And where did Paisley go?? She just disappears from school.

I like Chris, but his character reminds me WAY too much of Jesse on Gilmore Girls.

Paisley was lame anyway, but it was weird that she just disappeared. Same with Karen's boyfriend.

....You've just proved the entire point of the show, that the world's view of beauty is flawed and shallow. I don't think the title is really supposed to be about whether or not the characters were nice.

Honestly, tonight was the first time I've ever seen this show and though it may be a bit unrealistic about plot points and such, the point of it was that not only is there such a thing as inner beauty - but more than that, that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

You view Sarah Foret as "fat and ugly" because that's what you've been trained to think of a woman who looks like that - because she's not model size 0 it makes her ugly in your eyes. The point of the show was that in today's society one size fits all. When it shouldn't.

Sorry that you completely missed the meaning, that's what makes me sad.

^I agree 100%. I, for one, see nothing wrong with the girl. And even if I did, there's way more to her than how she looks, but all people do these days is get a free pass to judge someones appearance as if it's going to change a thing.

Men feeling within their "rights" to label perfectly healthy-looking actresses "ugly" or "fat" is the very reason why so many women develop eating disorders. Congratulations, Mike, in contributing to an epidemic that is killing off thousands of womyn every year.
Do you feel proud of yourself?
Meanwhile, the rest of us can sleep easy at night, content in the knowledge that we are too smart to let one idiotic man dictate our self-esteem, especially one who probably can't even manage to sweet-talk prostitutes into bed. So why don't you go back to watching Girls Gone Wild---cuz that's the only way you're gonna get your rocks off today or any other day, ass.

The title actually refers to what they consider to be the BPs or beautiful people. The ones who lived the charmed life and have all of their wants and needs at their fingertips. The title actually refers to them trying to fit in where they may not belong, and try to exist among the beautiful people. I never really minded Sophie at first, like in the first episode, but after that she was quite terrible. Boring, and far fetched. She wasn't really pretty enough or interesting enough to catch all of that attention.
I think that the only reason they did cast her was due to her resemblance to Daphne.

Also, she is not really fat at all, she has what one would refer to as 'baby fat' which just makes her look young, and gives her a (very slightly)chubby face.

I was just trolling through this website trying to figure out why a show that I just entranced in watching was cancelled in such a deplorable manner, and I came across this man Mike's wonderful opinion about a woman/girl he doesn't even know. Is she beautiful yes, because everyone is, even this Mike character. I'm just glad that in this world today someone such as this Mike person can make his opinions known to the world no matter how disparaging his remarks are...I mean I'm no expert but I am so totally glad that this Mike person is a super uber sexy male model who has the heart to tear down the looks of someone who is neither ugly nor fat. Thanks Mike, it's good to know that there are people such as yourself still being allowed to live. Thumbs way up buddy!

reply

She fat?? What is wrong with you? She's more average. Just because she's not a size 0, you consider her fat. Way to go, buddy. It's people like you who make women feel bad about themselves. It's that view right there that has pushed so many women into eating disorders because they feel "fat" when they're not.

I've been watching the DVD's recently and also watched "Beautiful People" during its original run. I've long considered Sarah Foret one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. I wish she did more acting because she is great. It's a shame this show didn't last longer.
