Is Jerry based on Marc Maron?

Hey, I'm currently watching Lucky Louie again. I'm also a fan of the WTF podcast with Marc Maron, who had, and still has, some issues with Louis CK, I don't want to bother you with details, but Louis seems to be avoiding the real life Marc Maron, for which the cause is not exactly clear.

Now, when I saw Jerry on Lucky Louie, it hit me. This character is based on Marc Maron. He's got the same scraggly, long-hair appearance, he's really confused, has a lot of psychological issues, and holds big speeches against "the man" which really have no other aim than to vent - all things Marc Maron is known for, including having been a drug user.

I am not saying it's Jerry was supposed to be 100% Marc Maron, but if Louis back in 2006 had been looking for someone to base an annoying, yet likable guy on, Marc Maron would surely have been his first choice.

Any thoughts?

Jerry is 100% Rick Shapiro. He was not acting. If you ever get to see Rick Shapiro perform live you better have a... There's no way to prepare for Rick Shapiro.

He is very Maron-y even though Shapiro is like that as well.
