for parents mostly....

I must admit, I loved this movie, and it will be released at blockbuster on Tuesday, the 12th, but the reason this board was started was simply because I couldn't understand the rating.

I personally, usually, think of the MPAA as the voice of the censor, the one that makes great movies worse by censoring them. In this case, though, I find myself on the other side. I watched 'Mighty Ducks' just a few days ago to get my mind set, about PG rated "hockey movies." Then I saw this movie.

To make myself clear, I enjoy watching extremely violent movies, but as an adult (well, the age of 24...lol) that is my privilege.

My concern for parents is that they might think that this is a 'Mighty Ducks' sort of movie. IT IS NOT!

There are VERY violent images shown (such as a man having his head sewn shut after and injury, to name one of the many.) There is also some adult content, not sexual, but more along the lines of career choices and children.

This is, again, a post simply for parents. I am not one myself, but it should be known, that this movie movie... for a PG rating, is pretty darn violent, esp. when compared to other similarly rated hockey movies.

I know there may be people reading this that disagree with my opinion, but on a final note, YES, I could've turned it off, but YES, I did thoroughly enjoy this movie. I just thought small children should be exposed to the level of violence in this movie, at their PARENTS' discretion.

Thanks for your time, and again, it is a GREAT movie. I just thought there should be someone who posted this information. If it is a repeat post, sorry.

Peace and much love to all!
