Beware anyone thinking of watching this hour and a half waste of your life. It has to be one of the most un-scary, un-thrilling movies I've ever seen. You keep expect something to happen and it never really does. Of course they have to toss in the obligatory lesbo scene to try to wake you up, the sign of great film making, LOL. In the end it really has to be one of the worst movies I've seen.

I think that might have been the point, for you to be "expecting something to happen and it never really does". If you've read the book, that's exactly the point. Not much happens in the novel, yet there are eight million ways to read it. This, friends, is why it went down in history as great literature.
Not saying the movie was any good...but still. :)
I have to agree also. Confusing. no direction. Sex and nudity thrown in for the R rating. It was mind boggling. Though it did remind my wife of the movie it was based on, The Turn of the Screw, which was decent and we'll go rent again to get the memory of this out of our heads.
I think it was pretty weird, yet it kept my attention....but, when the lesbian scene came on I lost interest.
I was very confused about the whole plot although after reading all of these threads I understand a lot more. Don't think I will be watching it again!
Nornally I check here first to see what everyone else is saying and 9/10 x I end agreeing with the people who liked the movie...but not this time. Only saving grace for me was I got this on a FREE rental (from redbox too). But it was definitly NOT scary, not entertaining...just boring.
I often wonder if the actors in these kind of movies know at the time when they are filming it that it is going to be this bad? I understand people need money...
i liked it...it reminded me of the shining with a little bit of the stepford wives mixed in with a third movie that i can't remember at the moment...

this movie was the crappiest I have EVER seen.It didn't even make any sense.The movie was moving UNBEARABLY slow and all it was leading to was lesbian sex.The movie was really predictable,and form the beginning,I knew someone was a lesbian.Horrible.i actually got my mom and brother to watch it with me for some 'family bonding" and they ended up complaining the whole night.
