Hi, if anyone has any idea how I can get a hold of this movie, I would be much obliged! There is a large group of people, working with human rights in Indonesia, that want to see it. But I cannot find it anywhere. Please let me know if you have any idea!!!
hello i was amazed by knowing about this film .. can u people help me watching this film...? I stay in INDIA.. am ready to do anything to watch this film...
first of all id need to know where you are? and if you already have seen the movie. not trying to be secretive here,im in the uk and just come back from indo where my wife bought the movie(recommended to her) so if your close by i could lend it to you
Aside from getting it from eBay or importing it directly from Indonesia (the latter is very uncommon practice), I don't think there's anyway you can get ahold of a DVD copy. Unless of course, you have someone who can get it for you from Indonesia.
However, if you live in Australia (I'm an Indonesian living down under myself), there are numerous Indonesian video rental shops you can rent it from (I can reccommend a few). They usually sell the VCD / DVDs as well, but stocks are usually limited to a few copies each store and they don't re-order. So if you're not quick on knowing the DVD release date of the movie in Indonesia, you might miss it.
Speaking of DVDs, for Indonesian movies, DVDs are usually produced in a limited number (because of the prevailing public preference of the VCD format which is cheaper than legitimate DVDs) and the release date of Indonesian DVDs are much later than the VCD version. The VCD usually comes out 3-4 months after the theatrical release period has ended, and the DVD usually comes out one or two months after the VCD release.
Note that although DVD piracy is widespread in Indonesia, there are no pirated / illegitimate / bootleg VCD / DVDs for Indonesian movie, which is good, really - shows that we support our local film industry.
There are several Indonesian online DVD vendors, but they don't do overseas shipment.
Also, note that some Indonesian movies are also getting a local DVD / VCD release in these countries: Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Netherlands, and recently, USA (the Indonesian movie "Arisan" was released on DVD recently in the U.S). You might want to look into that (on online vendors in the mentioned countries)
If you live in Hong Kong, I've seen some Indonesian movies DVDs sold in Sino Centre (Near Mong Kok MTR Station) recently.
Heya, where are the good video shops in Australia to get Indonesian films? Any in Melbourne? And do any or some of the films have English subtitles? Thanks....
